I have a Microsoft Edge. I have installed software to control an amateur radio over the internet. All works fine, except for the USB Audio Codec, which is not installed. I see in other postings and help screens, plugging in a device into the USB port will trigger the drive, but in this case, I have nothing to plug into the port. The appropriate files seem to be on the disc drive, but I don’t know how to activate/install it. How do I get the codec to work?

Device/Problem – Behringer Mixer “XENYX 1204USB” – Device works perfectly except windows 10 will not detect audio input. Says error migrating USB Audio Codec but successfully installs AudioEndpoint or such before that. I can hear window sounds but my mic input will not play in windows. Mic tested and working.Driver — 10.0.17763.1 USB Audio Codec (Windows)
Installed ASIO4ALL from manufacturer and no change. Tried every solution/tweak/fix I could think of or find but still no audio input.
Appreciate any help. Has worked fine for my daily streams/videos/Discord etc for 2 years now. Just suddenly nothing after updating PC with latest windows updates.

I have a 5 year old Mackie ProFx8 mixer that uses a USB port for data transfer. When you configure your system, the USB CODEC driver will be used. Anything that hangs off the mixer will be detected like your speakers and mics. Everything goes through the
USB port on the mixer. It acts like an analog to digital USB hub.You need to disable audio drivers of devices not attached to the mixer to avoid any feedback and potential driver bugs. Many computer motherboards have onboard audio chipsets like VIA or Realtek. You may be using Nvidia
or ATI Radeon graphics cards too. They will install their own HD audio and virtual drivers.You do not need to use those and should disable them. You want to avoid having anything influencing your audio pipeline.

USB mixer and USB ports. After hours of troubleshooting, I disabled all the devices mentioned above. You would think that would work, but it didn’t.To eliminate the problems entirely, uninstall all unused audio drivers.
Go to Device Manager
Click on Audio inputs and outputs
Right click the audio components you do not need
Disable first, then uninstall
Click on Sound, video and game controllers
Right click the audio components you do not need
Disable first, then uninstall
Reboot your computer.
Right click on the speaker icon in the tray
Look at the Playback list and Recording list
You should see devices attached to the USB Audio CODEC listed
Do the same with Device Manager and check that the system did not reinstall the drivers you eliminated

In today’s post, we will explore the symptoms, identify the cause and offer the possible solution to the issue where your Windows doesn’t install specific drivers for USB audio devices on the first connection.
The symptom of this issue can be diagnosed as follows. When you connect a USB audio device to a Windows 11/10 computer the first time, the operating system detects the device but loads the standard USB audio 2.0 driver (usbaudio2.sys) instead of the specific device driver.
In Windows 11/10, now, a USB Audio 2.0 driver is shipped. It is designed to support the USB Audio 2.0 device class. The driver is a WaveRT audio port class Miniport. USBAudio.Sys fits within the wider architecture of Windows USB Audio as shown.
This issue occurs because the USB audio 2.0 driver (usbaudio2.sys) isn’t classified as a generic driver in Windows 10. Therefore, the system assumes that a compatible, nongeneric driver is installed for the device even though the driver is actually generic.
This issue also causes Windows to postpone the search for other compatible drivers through Windows Update that typically occurs immediately after you install a new device.
To fix this issue, Microsoft recommends using one of the following methods.
- Make sure your Windows computer has the latest cumulative update installed.
- If the device-specific driver is distributed through Windows Update, you can manually update the driver by using Device Manager.
- If the device is not yet connected, first install the device-specific driver, such as by using the appropriate installer. After the device-specific driver is installed, Windows 10 will select that driver instead of the standard USB audio 2.0 driver when you first connect the device.
- If the driver isn’t distributed through Windows Update, you can manually reinstall the driver. To do this, follow these steps:

- Install the device-specific driver (see Method 2).
- Open Device Manager.
- Right-click (or tap and hold) the name of the device, and then select Uninstall.
- Restart the computer.
When it restarts, Windows will try to reinstall the device by using the device-specific driver.

Hi,
I have a couple of customers who cannot record from this device after updating to the Windows 10 Spring Creators Update. The device shows up OK in Device Manager but when our application tries to open it (using waveInOpen — we are a bit old-fashioned
that way), WAVERR_BADFORMAT (= 32) is returned.
Now this error is pretty generic in my experience and usually means that the drivers for the device are missing or non-functional in some way. I know for sure that the calling code is correct because it has been working for years.
I have upgraded a test machine to version 1803 and tested this here and everything works fine so I cannot debug it. So if anyone at MS can throw any light on things I’d be extremely grateful. My concern is that the problem may escalate as 1803
is rolled out so I need assistance sooner rather than later.
One possible clue is that one customer sees the following message in the Events tab of the Properties window for device Microphone on USB Audio CODEC:
Device SWD\MMDEVAPI\{0.0.1.00000000}.
I don’t see this on my test machine.
Other than that I really have nothing to go on.

Надеюсь, что Вы подключали через эти два кабеля какие-то устройства и они заработали, отсюда сделали вывод — кабели и порты USB исправны.
Провёл такой эксперимент с неустановленным драйвером USB порта в операционной системе.
До соединения компьютера и трансивера отображались следующие устройства:
Когда я подключил трансивер USB кабелем к компьютеру, то он обнаружил новое устройство и начал поиск и установку драйверов для него. В результате чего выдал такую картинку:
В диспетчере устройств появились новые объекты:
Если Ваш компьютер не начинает поиск драйверов, то видимо они в системе уже имеются. Скорее всего имеющиеся драйвера не те, что нужны, поэтому и не работают.
У Вас в диспетчере устройств имеется Unknown Device. Если этот Unknown Device появляется, когда Вы соединяете кабелем трансивер и компьютер, то попробуйте активировать поиск и установку драйверов для Unknown Device вручную. Предварительно распакуйте архив с драйверами в отдельную папку и при поиске укажите на неё.

Cpu – I7-6800k
Device/Problem – Behringer Mixer “XENYX 1204USB” – Device works perfectly except windows 10 will not detect audio input. Says error migrating USB Audio Codec but successfully installs AudioEndpoint or such before that. I can hear window sounds but my mic input will not play in windows. Mic tested and working.Driver — 10.0.17763.1 USB Audio Codec (Windows)
Installed ASIO4ALL from manufacturer and no change. Tried every solution/tweak/fix I could think of or find but still no audio input.
Appreciate any help. Has worked fine for my daily streams/videos/Discord etc for 2 years now. Just suddenly nothing after updating PC with latest windows updates.

or ATI Radeon graphics cards too. They will install their own HD audio and virtual drivers.You do not need to use those and should disable them. You want to avoid having anything influencing your audio pipeline.

Go to Device Manager
Click on Audio inputs and outputs
Right click the audio components you do not need
Disable first, then uninstall
Click on Sound, video and game controllers
Right click the audio components you do not need
Disable first, then uninstall
Reboot your computer.
Right click on the speaker icon in the tray
Look at the Playback list and Recording list
You should see devices attached to the USB Audio CODEC listed
Do the same with Device Manager and check that the system did not reinstall the drivers you eliminated

Симптомы этой проблемы можно диагностировать следующим образом. При первом подключении USB-аудиоустройства к компьютеру с Windows 10 операционная система обнаруживает устройство, но загружает стандартный драйвер USB-аудио 2.0 (usbaudio2.sys) вместо конкретного драйвера устройства.
В Windows 10 теперь поставляется драйвер USB Audio 2.0. Он разработан для поддержки класса устройств USB Audio 2.0. Драйвер представляет собой аудиопорт WaveRT класса Miniport. USBAudio.Sys вписывается в более широкую архитектуру Windows USB Audio, как показано.

U-PHORIA UM2 Audiophile 2×2 USB Audio Interface with XENYX Mic Preamplifier Not Working
I can’t find any downloadable drivers online to fix this problem. Behringer says the device is «plug and play» so I’m at a loss in what to do. I’ve already tried formatting my laptop, uninstalling then reinstalling the driver, and also unplugging then re-plugging the audio interface. I also tried using a different cable. None of them worked…
I plugged the audio interface into my surface tablet and it was able to install the driver without any problem so it works there. I can assure you that the problem is probably my laptop/the driver and not the interface. But of course, I’d still hope I can use the audio interface on my laptop. A week ago, it was working okay… And then it became like this. The driver just «disappeared».
I use the interface only for recording with my condenser microphone. I don’t have any instruments, monitors, or MIDI controllers plugged into it. I was able to see «USB Audio CODEC» on my Playback Devices before and on Device Manager. But now they are paired with an error… And has been named to «BEHRINGER USB AUDIO».

Заходите в диспетчер устройств и находите своё устройство. Заходите в свойства на вкладку Сведения. Ищите в выпадающем списке Строгое имя узла драйвера. В значениях будет указано имя файла INF для этого устройства, например, oem41.inf. Затем ищите в папке c:Windowsinf этот файл и удаляете его (можно временно перенести его куда-то, чтобы не удалять). Затем удаляем устройство в Диспетчере задач и перезагружаемся. 0 |

Хочу обновить тему, не уверен что ответят но все же…после установки драйвера BEHRINGER USB AUDIO 2.8.40 перестали играть какие либо звуки и т.п и теперь хочу удалить его и вернутся как было раньше, когда аудио интервейс umc22 отображался как USB Audio Codec по выше сказаной инструкции ничего не получается в системе всеравно появляется надпись BEHRINGER USB AUDIO 2.8.40 и карточка мертвая 0 |
