We still have users that have a busted Tor Browser experience as Tor can’t get started on their device. This report stems for a user on IRC. They have Android 4.1.2 and get
Unable to start Tor: java.io.IOException: Control port file not created:

Tor Browser for Android download
Last update of the program in the header:24.05.2019 Screenshots Short description: Description: GP description Tor Browser for Android is the only official mobile browser supported by the Tor Project — the developers of the world’s most powerful tool for ensuring privacy and freedom on the Internet. Note. For this version, you need to install the Orbot proxy application that will connect the Tor Browser to the Tor network. Our goal for the future is to remove the need to use Orbot to connect to the Tor network in the stable release of Tor Browser for Android. Known issue: the security level slider is in the “Security Settings” menu, but due to a minor issue, it only appears after the application is restarted. We plan to fix this issue in the next release. bankmaster @ 05/08/19 20:11 Ie is not in fashion In firefox, they missed updating the certificate and because of this, the extensions disappear. For a stationary computer, there are already many ways to figure out how to fasten a new certificate. There is no way for smartphones yet. Especially for the Tor Browser. Most likely, you will first have to make a fix for a regular mobile firefox, and then an update will appear in the Tor Browser Already appeared, thanks for the news! There are bunch of things weird here. First of all, I don’t have any other Tor Browser running nor Orbot installed on that tablet. So, it’s not obvious what is interfering with Tor Browser.
Secondly, for some reason two tor’s are started (and both are dying later) which seems wrong to me.

It seems I could to install older libevent
manually:
$ apt-file search libevent-2.1.so.6
libevent-2.1-6: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libevent-2.1.so.6
Not sure if this should be fixed in bundled Tor or we (users) will have to install this package by ourselves?
@freimair Could you please have a look at this? Thanks!
well that is bad. the last tor-update has been reverted so the issue is most likely still there.
I will put it on my list.
- Why is my Tor Browser launcher not working?
- How do I open onion links on Android?
- How do I start Tor Browser?
- Is Tor being Ddosed?
- Why can’t I access onion sites on Tor?
- Why can’t i open onion links?
- Are Tor browsers legal?
- Is Tor virus free?
- Does Tor Browser hide IP?
- Can Russians access Tor?
- Why is Tor not working after update?
- Why can’t I access onion sites?
- Why is Tor website blocked?
- Is Tor run by the CIA?
- Is Tor legal or illegal?
- Which country blocked Tor?
Why is my Tor Browser launcher not working?
If Tor Browser was working before and is not working now your system may have been hibernating. A reboot of your system will solve the issue. Delete Tor Browser and install it again. If updating, do not just overwrite your previous Tor Browser files; ensure they are fully deleted beforehand.
