    I do have a windows 7 Pro pc with Remote Desktop. Recently I noticed that my printers were not redirected and tried to find anything on the web with no luck, everybody was saying that the problem was the driver or the client or the TS host configuration
    but after hours of trying I found on the Event Viewer > Applications and Services Logs > Microsoft > Windows > Print Service a description for this problem: «The print spooler failed to load a plug-in module C:Windowssystem32spoolDRIVERSx643tsprint.dll,
    error code 0x7e. See the event user data for context information.

    There’s not much information on how this plugin ir loaded or failed or why?… so after a while, I decided to try my best dark solution: replace the 3 files (tsprint*.*) with a copy from another machine (with the same OS of course) that did not
    show this resolved the problem, at least for now the printers are redirected.

    I hope this helps somebody and there’s a question on the air… does anybody know how to track this problem? or any information on how this «plug-in» interact with the windows printer spooler?

    Please follow the methods given below to resolve this issue:

    Method 1:

    Delete the pending files in printer folder and check:

    • Press Windows key + R and type services.msc in the search field and press enter.
    • In the Services listed stop the Print Spooler service.
    • In Windows Explorer, navigate to the folder below, and open the PRINTERS.

    C:Windowssystem32spoolPRINTERS

    • Click on Continue or Yes (if prompted by UAC) to approve opening the PRINTERS folder.
    • Delete all files in the PRINTERS folder until it is empty, and then close Windows Explorer. Note: DO NOT DELETE the PRINTERS folder itself. Only delete its contents.

      Open Services, and start the Print Spooler service.

    Method 2:

    Let’s start the all the dependencies service for the printer spooler service. Follow the steps provided.

    • Press Windows key + R and type services.msc in the search field and press ENTER.
    • Scroll down toPrint spooler.
    • Right click and click properties, click the tab “Dependencies”
    • Note all of the dependent services listed, and then close thePrint Spooler Properties window.

    If any of the dependent services are missing or cannot be started, try uninstalling all installed printer drivers and then reinstalling them.

    Method 3:

    If the issue still persists, I would suggest you to install the latest driver for the printers from the manufacturer website and check if it helps. You can also refer to the article mentioned below if the issue persists.

    I understand your concern, I would suggest you to run built-in Printer Troubleshooter can automatically detect and fix most of the incorrect settings and errors that could cause issues while printing. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter
    to check if there is any issue with the sound. Refer top these steps:

    • Click on Troubleshooting and select the
      view all option on the left pane.
    • Click on Printer troubleshooter and follow the online instructions.

    Also clear the Printer Spooler cache and restart the Print Spooler Service.

    • Press “Windows + R” key, type “Services.msc” (without the quotes) and hit “Enter”.
    • Now, scroll down to the “Print Spooler Service
    • Double Click “Print Spooler” in the services list.
    • Click “Stop” and then “Ok”.
    • Click the “Start” button (icon) and copy and paste the path–

    • Now delete everything in the folder that comes up.

    I believe the initialization failed because of UserID is incorrect after downgrade but I have no idea on what I can do to fix it.

Over the last year and a half, with the onset of a global pandemic, System Lifeline has assisted many of our clients in mobilizing their workforce to allow them to be productive while working remotely.  One of the methods some of our clients use, is remote desktop connection to their work PC (through a VPN, of course) so they have all their familiar programs and settings already in place.

In some cases (like cheque printing), customers may need the ability to access local resources on their home network while logged into their remote desktop session at work.  Recently, in this exactly scenario, we had a user report that their home printers were simply missing.  One day they could access them, the next day they could not.

Their work printers were still available, but no redirected printers would show up in their list of available printers.

What we found was a little strange.  On the remote machine, the local “remote desktop session host policies” for printer redirection were correct: (Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Remote Desktop Services > Remote Desktop Session Host > Printer Redirection).

On the local or “home” machine, the remote desktop application was set to share local resources.  Other components were functioning properly, like access to the local drives from the remote session.

Looking in the Print Service Admin event viewer log did reveal an error each time the user logged into the remote PC, when the system was attempting to generate the redirected printers:

As it turns out, for whatever reason, the tsprint.dll file was actually missing from the C:WINDOWSsystem32spoolDRIVERSx643 directory.  In fact, when comparing to another system on the network (same brand and model, same operating system), we were missing 3 files:

  • tsprint.dll
  • tsprint-PipelineConfig.xml
  • tsprint-datafile.dat

The solution here was to copy these 3 files from the alternate machine to the problem machine, and then log out and back in.  The session printers were created without issue, accessible, and successfully printing from the remote machine again.

    I understand your concern, I would suggest you to run built-in Printer Troubleshooter can automatically detect and fix most of the incorrect settings and errors that could cause issues while printing. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter
    to check if there is any issue with the sound. Refer top these steps:

    • Click on Troubleshooting and select the
      view all option on the left pane.
    • Click on Printer troubleshooter and follow the online instructions.

    Also clear the Printer Spooler cache and restart the Print Spooler Service.

    • Press “Windows + R” key, type “Services.msc” (without the quotes) and hit “Enter”.
    • Now, scroll down to the “Print Spooler Service
    • Double Click “Print Spooler” in the services list.
    • Click “Stop” and then “Ok”.
    • Click the “Start” button (icon) and copy and paste the path–

    %WINDIR%\system32\spool\printers

    • Now delete everything in the folder that comes up.
    • Now press “Windows + R” key, type “Services.msc” (without the quotes) and hit “Enter”.
    • Right Click on “Print Spooler” and select “Properties”.
    • On the “General Tab”, make sure that the “Startup type” is set to “Automatic”.
    • Click on “Apply” and “Ok”.

I believe the initialization failed because of UserID is incorrect after downgrade but I have no idea on what I can do to fix it.
Please let me know if any one have idea on what to do to fix it. Even if I’m wrong about the UserID, any solution to the problem would greatly be appreciated. Thank you.

Firstly, if there are any third-party software installed, please disable them.
Secondly, I suggest you un-install printer drivers, then re-install them to see whether it works.
You may also check whether Print Spooler service has been started and start up type is set to Automatic.
In addition, please ensure that dependency services which are required for print spooler service are started.

I got and error message say «rpcrt4.dll Page not valid» that seem come from Windows and is related to a Remote Procedure Call. I already check the version of this dll 4.71.2900

    The rpcrt4.dll is part of the DCom98 package. I have seen other problems, unrelated to LabVIEW, with this .dll arise when other programs have installed different versions of some of the DCom DLLs. You may want to consider trying this program out on another Win98 machine, or you may want to search through the Microsoft Support page for errors with this dll, specifically with the error number in the message you receive. The ones that I have seen have suggested restoring the DCom dlls to the original ones from the Win98 disk. There is also an update to the DCom components for Windows 98 (version 1.3) on the Microsoft website.

    From your description, I suspect that you are trying to use the COM based Report Designer Component(?). This component has been retired in CR XI R2. The activeX viewer you are trying to access is only included for internal purposes and you are not licensed to use it at all. In CR 2008, you will have to use the CR SDK for Visual Studio .NET.

    We have tried on two different FMS on two different machines. We still get the same error
    It works fine when we just stream HTTP live without flash access.
    It is really hard for us to debug when we only get “unknown error”

  • Solved: «Error in loading DLL» adding vb Reference to Photoshop CS5.1 (CS5.5)

    It took me a while to solve this so I thought I’d post the solution.
    On two machines (one 32-bit the other 64-bit) running the new Phonoshop CS5.1 that ships with CS5.5, I had trouble adding a reference in vb (vba) to the Photoshop Object Library for scripting:
    I would just get: Error in Loading DLL
    It appears that on both machines, the CS5.5 installer incorectly referenced the dll which is called «ScriptingSupport.8li» (not exactly a .dll-looking name but anyway ;-)
    The Adobe CS5.5 installer set the system registry to look for the file in:
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 (64 Bit)\Plug-ins\Automate
    or
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5.1\Plug-ins\Automate
    but installed the file to:
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 (64 Bit)\Plug-ins\Extensions
    or
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5.1\Plug-ins\Extensions
    I copied ScriptingSupport.8li from the Extensions folder to the Automate folder and it started working.
    Hope this helps someone else. :-)

    Taken at face value, you’re having trouble with a Windows OS dll.

    You will also need to check and verify that the following folders have been removed:

    C:\Windows\System32\QuickTimeVR
    dont forget to remove icloud also
    you dont need to delete your itune music library though
    If any of these folders still exist, delete them along with their contents. (if you cant delete them, right click and go to properties and then security and change the control of the fold to you)
    do this for files under  program files and program file (x86) on your computer
    once you have deleted everything, restart your computer. Then I repaired my registry using a registry repair program.
    Important:-  instead of installing itunes I installed quick time, which installs apple application support (this is the corrupt file which is causing all the issues)
    i then installed itunes and it all worked fine,
    should take no longer than half hour to fix
