Registry Error? INPA
When I start
I get this error:
*****************************************
Registry Value failed in SubKey :
‘HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Services/Serial’May be there are problems!
*****************************************
How do I fix this?
-
YOu need to goto Ediabas/hardware/obdsetup And run the program. That will get the registry set but if it still shows warnings or missing variables, you need to actually goto into the registry and change or add some variables to it…
To go into registry you goto the start menu and under search programs type REGEDIT….Then goto ‘HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/CurrentControlSet/Services/Serial’
There you will find all the values from the OBDsetup. Make changes to it accordingly to make all the values say «OK»

I was able to change the Value Start to 1 but there are still several items that «failed». How do I fix that?

Don’t worry about the script content unless it prevents the program from running.

If those are your values there will be no connection and it would definitely not work…Here is a picture of the correct values…Go into the registry like I posted earlier and make the correct changes to them..Once you get to the serial registry you need to look at the values I posted on the pic and make the changes to it…If you have to add a value use the top right and press edit and make changes.

Thank you this was very helpful.

Recently I had gotten the same error message in INPA, but had no problems checking for errors on my car. I looked in the registry and could not find
‘HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Services/Serial’I just checked and realized that I had left EDIABAS 6.4.7 in the C: drive after using DIS, then forgot to switch EDIABAS to 7.3.0 for my INPA(version 5.0.6). I just switched over to EDIABAS 7.3.0 and upon opening INPA(version 5.0.6), the error did not appear.
Just my 2 cents.

I’m getting the same error. I’m running windows 10 on my computer. Can anyone help me with the installation? I will really appreciate the help. I bought the CD online and I don’t know if INPA 5.01 is compatible with windows 10. Thanks for your help.

Hi,
You pay for INPA?? Whaaat… somebody f**ck you up. And to reply for your question, for sure INPA 5.06F will run smootly on Win10.
Remove all those shit what you have, clean registry, download whole package from here, install and enjoy:
https://mega.nz/#F!zw5V0IrD!08GgdgH0AtxZcWh62_76xAIn case you can always pm me, or I can help you via Team Viewer.

My virusscanner wasn’t happy with some «Dr gini.exe» file inside this archive. Also never heard of anything Gini inside a BMW Tool setup.

I have to ask, but does the reg entry of «Serial» (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Services/Serial) interfere with any ADS setup?
Or is this strictly for the «USB Serial Port» devices?
I have an USB OBD setup on COM3 (and set as such in OBD.ini) and an ADS setup on COM1/IRQ4/03F8.
Changing anything in any of the port settings (send/receive buffers) does not seem to change the reg settings. Kind of confusing what interface links to what reg entry.

i have the same problem but i can not go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/CurrentControlSet

Background info: I have followed DIY guide exactly to the letter. Running Vista (which stinks), using clear ebay cable, 09/07 build date.
INPA Problem: I am having two recurring INPA error messages. One of the messages comes up immediately upon start up of INPA application and the other occurs when I try to read the airbag module. The message reads:
Quote:
Warning
Registry Value Failed in SubKey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Services/Serial
From searching numerous threads on all coding related forums I have found that the solution to the problem might be to go into the registry and change some values around, but I do not know how to go about this (exactly). The answer I found may be here (http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1471268[/url]) post #5.
The second error message comes up when I try to communicate or read the airbag. When I go to Karosserie>Airbag (as in the DIY) pressing F5 doesn’t do anything, but when I press enter button this error message comes up.
Quote:
Variant checking
Group file: D_SIM
IFG-0018: INITIALIZATION ERROR.
Program will be stopped
Edit: I just decided to skip INPA step. But if you can still help me with a solution I would greatly appreciate it. Also, I found out what was wrong with NCSEXPERT. I was not running the program «as administrator» once I did this I had no problems and was able to code my e90!

You literally change the text in the SALAPA-Element Box from «6nh» to «6nk» and then you apply the changes. He is gonna work on getting maybe screen shots later regarding the ECU stuff. |

I’m running into a few issues when trying to recode anything after the FEM recall with 48.3 and 3.18.4. For example — FEM_BODY [40] I get the same thing in HU CIC http://www.f30post.com/forums/showpo…12324765…357 I’m a bit stuck. I believe I’m on F020-12-11-505. One difference I noticed is that when I update the CAFD I don’t get the little yellow dot next to the CAFD that I used to. |

Did you delete and replace your existing PSdZData folder with the 48.3 one, or did you copy it on top of your old one? __________________
