Прошу помочь в расшифровке кода неисправности OBD II P1419 -

I FIGURED IT OUT! I finally took my car to the dealer after going to two import mechanic shops. The first shop also read the P1419, secondary air flow circuit malfuction. This is why I replaced the MAF sensor.. they told me too.. PS: I’ll be contacting that company and asking them to send me 400 wasted dollars.
The second shop got the same code and they didn’t have a clue!
Third, I went to the BMW dealer.. They found out that secondary air really is secondary air. This sensor measures the ambient air temp and decides weahter or not I need air forced into the manifold at start up. This can looking device is mounted opposite the MAF sensor in the engine compartment and can be replaced for under $100.

If it matters Code P1419 on a aftermarket code reader is Secondary Mass Air Flow Sensor and the previous post is correct buy a BMW # 11.72.1.438.814 in Canada its 169.00 but it will correct the problem

Термоанемометрический расходомер добавочного воздуха,системы продувки катов. Геморная фигня на америкосах. Горит джеки чан,замена расходомера в основном не помогает. Решил проблему прошивкой на евро2. Поищи поиском,есть тут темы про это.

На 99% проблема не в нем. Просто выдает ошибку по расходомеру,из-за того,что идет больше или меньше воздуха через него. Проблема или в подсосе лишнего воздуха(негерметичность патрубков),или неисправен клапан на выпуске,может быть проблема в разъемах электрических,реле,а так же сам нагнетатель м.быть неиспрпвен. ВРаботоспособность системы можно проверит Дис-ом.
Менял все в этой системе,так и не победил ее. Проблему решил неделю назад,перепрошивкой не евро2

P1419 Fault Code 2004 X5 3.0
I have a 2004 X5 3.0i
My OBDII reader says I have a P1419 fault code. None of the local Import shops can tell me what is wrong with my X5. I have replaced the Mass Air Flow Sensor. 400 Bucks with no avail. Has anyone else seen this code with this Piece of SHIT BMW? If so, please help me fix it so I can sell it as soon as possible. Thanks for your help.

Hmm, P1419 doesn’t seem to show up anywhere as a valid OBD-II code. Do you have any driveability problems, or is it just that the CEL is on? You might want to try a different code reader — Peake Research’s tool works very well with BMW’s. Did any of the import shops try reading the code out themselves, or were they just going by the P1419 code you gave them. Why did you change the MAF — did you have reason to suspect a problem with it in particular? You definitely don’t want to be throwing expensive parts like this at it, hoping for the best

I agree that you need to have the codes read out by someone with a mainstream diag system (DIS, GT-1, Solus, etc). Your code reader may be confused.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Wow.. a year later I read this. Sorry it took so long. I guess if anyone else is living with this problem then you will need to order part number 11-72-1-438-814.
It’s called the Secondary mass air sensor. Don’t confuse this with the Mass Air Flow sensor which costs 400.00. The part you need can bet acquited online around 68.00.

My 2005 x5 3.0i just popped up with the same problem. I’ll look for that part and see if it fixes the problem.

I have a 2005 BMW X5 3.0L, my Check engine light came on and I took the car to a shop to read the code, the code is P1419 secondery Air flow sensor, BECARFULL not the main air flow sensor which is $500plus. By reading a few post from this site I tried the secondary sensor and solved the problem.
The sensor OE # 11-72-1-438-814 $180 cnd. Thanks.

FYI — for those who ever need to replace the larger MAF for the actual engine intake, you can get them also in the $70-$100 range by either using Range Rover MAF’s (same motor for a while) or using a certain VW MAF (search www.m5board.com since I don’t remember the #). Just throwin it out there to save people some $.

I have the same problem code p1419.
I change already the second mass air sensor(try to clean the old one first, no luck), clean the connections, clean the valve as well and the «check engine soon» is still there.
I did check the valve by blowing air and it its going a little bit out( I read that is how should be) I do not know what the problem can be, I will check the pump tomorrow morning
I am thinking did I need to reset something i mean disconnect the battery or reset the computer some how so i can clear the check engine light

Привет всем.Хочу поделиться бедой,и попросить совета!!Может кто из присутствующих знает как мне помочь?Корче ,на Х5 и на Х3 номер двигателя спрятан под левой опорой двигателя.Наше долбаное ГИБДД требует его для постановки на учет.Приходится снимать опору,масляный щуп,и т.д.,чтобы прочитать этот екарный номер.Все 5 авто ,на которых мне пришлось это делать—америкосы.В итоге на 3-х из них после этой процедуры повыскакивали одинаковые ошибки Р1419.Пробовали считывать у диллера ,у них БМВовые коды вылезли 092 и 120.Нихрена наши диллеры не смогли наладить.Вот вам и БМВ—ТТС.Профи видать хреновые.Ошибки при стирании вылазят на холодную по утрам,после заводки авто,где-то через 1 минуту.Стираешь и весь день ничего,тихо как в болоте.На утро все повторяется вновь.Кто нить сталкивался с такой бедой?Что за фигня такая?Помогите реальным советом люди добрые и умные. :banghead:
Old thread, but I’ll post up my solution for a future lurker (like I was).
I had the same code — and there is a second mass air flow sensor as indicated in the prior post. I tried to clean mine as well — no resolution.
I then removed the valve to make sure that it wasn’t stuck. It wasn’t so that removed that as being possible.
I then removed the hose that attaches to the air pump to the valve and started the car (it has to be cold). The pump ran for about 30-45 seconds and sounded like a vacuum cleaner as it should.
Final possibility was the mass air flow sensor as well. With the car running I backprobed the wiring harness with a DVM. The ground was good, the 12V supply was good, but the third wire (which was the signal wire) was reading 0V — meaning it was not returning a signal to the computer and triggering the SES code.
No cleaning would take care of that — so I had to replace it. I really didn’t want to shell out over $100 for a new one. So I searched around and found a rebuilt one at RockAuto for around $50 after core return. I tried it thinking I could return it if it was a POS. But 1 week later no issues. Time will tell but so far — so good.
Hope this helps someone else.
