   getting cel code p1176. I searched in the forums and seen that some people have found that replacing the coolant temp. sensor solved the problem. Tried it. It did not. Someone also told me that running race gas with stock exhaust and cats could cause this? could that be the culprit? I have not noticed any lag in performance and am still boosting and at normal vacuum readings.

   What’s the actual VAG code you are getting. That doesn’t look familiar to me as a coolant sensor code.

   that’s an O2 sensor code, that’s probably the culprit. GL and the full code is this in case for next time.

   so can i just get rid of the sensor cause don’t u get rid of it when you do downpipes?

   Get them from genuineaudi, worldimpex, etc. They are in the 120 dollar range for plug and play sensors.

   Typing «what’s» instead of «wuts» doesn’t take much more effort..

   how long have you had that code for? I’m just wondering if it will be fine to keep driving the car like this for another month or so till I get my downpipes on.

   lamba correction behind cat is a wierd one. im leaning towards it actually being an aging problem with the rear o2 sensor. theres a certian sampeling rate it needs to have linked with the front o2 sensor. its probably getting old.

   though since you were runnign a different kind of gas it could have had a high checmical content in it that may have fouled it up or damaged the cat. what kind of gas were you running exactly?

    I was running vp110. I was also told that those sensor tend to die out around 100k anyway and im at 105k so maybe thats it too.

    so do you mean that I could have just screwed up a cat and not the o2 sensor and thats why its throwing the code?
