Since Outlook is the issue I would delete from there. Gmail will handle it’s own syncing. Sometimes Outlook acts stupid and sync something waaaay back then for no reason. Another option is to clear the cache and let it re-sync everything.

I don’t think so. I will have him check and delete all drafts and delted items to be sure.
When going into the error details it points to older email already sent. These messages to have attachments but they were sent years ago.

Don’t clear the cache if you already did it, I would delete the email first. That’s just an option if most of the basic troubleshooting has been done.

Afer doing this: Ok, got to your gmail in the browser then go to Settings. Select Labels. Make sure that Show in IMAP is enabled/selected for Inbox, Sent Mail, Trash, and All Mail.
All except all email was done.

@jumanji I have had a similar issue. I tried to move a series of emails from an Exchange account to an iCloud account using Outlook on Mac. Two emails were too big causing the Error Code: -17193. I cannot find the offending email in the original Exchange folder, not in the Outbox, not in the inbox or target folder for the iCloud account. Error message is being triggered every two minutes. Any suggestions how I con stop this?

it depends on your email provider, most of them allow to send up to only 10 megabyte to another email account. for greater files you must use an filesharer like google drive or so on.

We are using a self-hosted IMAP server for email, so we are our own email provider and, as I administer that email server, I know there are no email size limitations set. Furthermore, when I could not send this attachment via Outlook, I switched to the
Thunderbird email client and it sent the attachment just fine. That leads me to conclude there must be some setting in Outlook itself I need to tweak. -

As far as I know, Outlook for Mac doesn’t have such a limitation for attachment size.
Do you have any messages stuck at Outbox or Draft? Many users reported that we can empty messages in Outbox, Draft or Deleted folder and then try again.

Regarding your problem, have you tried sending attachment on the web mail?
If attachment cannot be sent on the web mail either, the issue is more related with your IMAP server.
If issue only occurs on Outlook for MAC, then it lies on client side. In this case, you may check following steps.

Specifically, it says, «Details, The total attachment size exceeds the limit. Try removing one or more attachments before saving or sending. Error code: -17193.» So, there must be some kind of limit.No messages stuck in outbox or drafts. The version of Outlook is 365, part of Office 365 recently installed and kept updated.
The problem only occurs on the Mac, and only with Outlook. Other email clients (Thunderbird) on the same Mac can send this attachment w/o problem. If it were a problem with the IMAP server then I would think Thunderbird would not be able to send either.

I did many researches but haven’t found related official articles regarding attachment size limit for Outlook for Mac.
It was also reported by some users that emptying the Deleted Items folder would work.

I completely resemble your situation.
I support a publisher who for nearly 30 years has sent files of any size without restriction using Apple Mail client and BlueHost’s mail hosting service. The mail server has no size limit on transmissions — not from Apple Mail or Webmail!
I have just added an Outlook 365 for Mac client to the LAN and IMMEDIATELY
have been introduced to Microsoft’s email size limitation paradox. It is irresponsible to talk around this issue. The question is VERY simple.GIVEN there is a limitation on Outlook 365 for Mac’s Mac client, how can this limitation be increased?
Please understand the question is NOT, what is a work around nor what happens if I try to send email on one foot.
In my case, the -17193 error message occurred when initially i-mapping the account! Email was not «sent» or «received» through the server, per se. What I see is the error message, every time a sync is attempted, and an indication of «17»
«new» messages in the draft folder that are not really there (number 17 to the right of the folder). There are actually 3 draft messages in that folder, as proven by Webmail, Apple Mail client and Outlook 365 for Mac client. there are not 17 or 20
draft messages.I have read online where other folks experiencing size limitations upon sending email will discover Outlook (version and platform unknown) has placed those messages in the drafts folder for review, however in my case, not even Bluehost can locate said email
anywhere on our email server (front-side, back-side, etc).IF my Outlook 365 for Mac client has «quarantined» 17 messages local to my hard drive, then I would like to know how to see what these 17 messages are BEFORE deleting the entire drafts folder or the account to eradicate «the problem».

Any such limit should be on the server side only!
