B210D code — The Occupant Restraint Controller module (ORC) receives power from both a fused run relay output and fused ignition switch output circuit from the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM). These circuits power the ORC and the capacitors used to initiate the squib deployment circuits in the event of collision detection.

The Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) module checks the Fused Ignition (Run Only) relay Output circuit and Fused Ignition Switch Output (Run-Start) circuit voltage input range every 10ms throughout the ignition cycle.

The code will be set active if the ORC detects when both the Ignition (Run Only) and Ignition (Run-Start) supply circuits voltage is less than 9 volts for 15 seconds. The code will go from active to stored if the Ignition (Run Only) or Ignition (Run-Start) voltage is more than 10 volts for 5 seconds. The Airbag Warning Lamp (AWL) sets for this DTC. Air Bag Deployment will not be inhibited by this DTC.

1. Verify that dtc b210d-battery voltage low is active

Make sure the battery is fully charged. Troubleshoot any PCM charging/cranking DTC before proceeding. Turn the ignition on. With the scan tool, read the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) DTC.

Does the scan tool display active: B210D-BATTERY VOLTAGE LOW IS ACTIVE?

Yes, go to step 2.
No, go to step 3.

Step 2. Check voltage of ORC module fused RUN and Fused RUN/START circuit

Turn the ignition off, disconnect the 12-volt battery and wait two minutes before proceeding. Disconnect the ORC harness connectors. Turn the ignition on, then reconnect the 12-volt battery and wait two minutes before proceeding.
Measure the voltage between Ground and the F100 Fused Run circuit. Measure the voltage between Ground and the F201 Fused Run/Start circuit.

Is the voltage above 10.0 volts on both circuits?

Yes, replace the ORC module, perform the Airbag system verification.
No, repair the (F100) Fused (Run Only) Relay Output and/or (F201) Fused Ignition Switch Output (Run-Start) circuits for an open or high resistance.

Step 3. Checking stored or intermittent codes

Diagnose and repair all active codes before diagnosing stored codes. Refer to the Table of Contents in this Section for a complete list of airbag system diagnostic procedures. With the scan tool, record and erase all Airbag System Module DTCs.
Turn the ignition off disconnect the 12-volt battery and wait two minutes before proceeding. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the related wiring and connectors for chafed, pierced, pinched, and partially broken wires, and for broken, bent, pushed out, corroded, and contaminated terminals. Repair as necessary. Reconnect all disconnected components and harness connectors.
Turn the ignition on, then reconnect the 12-volt battery and wait two minutes before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.

Yes, select the appropriate diagnostic procedure from the Table of Contents in this section.

The battery power supply is supplied from the fusible link (34) or (44) to SRS-ECU.
SRS-ECU has two independent battery power supplies circuit (fuse Nos. 12 and 18) having
fuses.
The code is set when the battery voltage becomes low or when the open circuit occurs to
the power supply circuit.

  • Battery voltage low voltage
  • Open circuit to power supply circuit
  • Damaged wiring harness and connectors
  • Malfunction of SRS-ECU

  • Short circuit check for SRS-ECU power supply wire

Is the check result normal?

Replace the power supply fuse.
Repair the wiring harness. And then replace the power supply fuse.
Refer to GROUP 54A — Battery Test .

Charge or replace the battery.
(1)Disconnect the C-309 ETACS-ECU connector.
(2)Measure the voltage between the C-309 harness side connector terminal No. 1 and
the body earth.
OK: Battery voltage

Is the check result normal?

  • Open circuit check for ETACS-ECU power supply wire

Q.
Is the check result normal?

Repair the wiring harness.
Check if the ETACS diagnosis code is set.

Q.
Is the diagnosis code set?

Use M.U.T.-III to diagnose the CAN bus lines.

Q.
Is the check result normal?

(1)Connect the negative battery terminal.
(2)After erasing the diagnosis code memory, check the diagnosis code again.
(3)Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

Q.
Is diagnosis code No. B210D set?

(1)Check that the negative battery terminal is disconnected. If the negative battery
terminal is connected, disconnect it.
(2)Disconnect the C-313 ETACS-ECU connector.
(3)While pushing the part «A» indicated in the figure of the harness side connector, turn
the lock lever to the direction of the arrow to release the lock lever, and disconnect the C-121
SRS-ECU connector.
(4)Measure the resistance values as shown below.

  • Continuity between C-313 ETACS-ECU connector terminal
    No. 2 and C-121 SRS-ECU connector terminal No. 62
  • Continuity between C-313 ETACS-ECU connector terminal No. 4 and C-121 SRS-ECU connector
    terminal No. 61

OK: Continuity (less than 2 Ω)

Q.
Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 10.

Repair the wiring harness between the C-313 ETACS-ECU connector terminal No. 2/4
and the C-121 SRS-ECU connector terminal No. 62/61.

(1)Check that the negative battery terminal is disconnected. If the negative battery
terminal is connected, disconnect it.
(2)While pushing the part «A» indicated in the figure of the harness side connector, turn
the lock lever to the direction of the arrow to release the lock lever, and disconnect the C-121
SRS-ECU connector.
(3)Connect the negative battery terminal.
(4)Ignition switch: ON
(5)Take the measurements below at the C-121 harness side connector.

  • Voltage between terminal No. 61/62 and body
    earth

OK: 9 V or more
(6)Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

Q.
Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 11.

Replace the ETACS-ECU (Refer to GROUP 54A — ETACS-ECU ).

Q.
Is diagnosis code No. B210D set?
