  • Workfolders is great when it works, but clearly it is such a complicated configuration with so many dependencies that when things stop working, its a game of Whac-A-Mole to get it working again.

The error messages aren’t helpful, there are no troubleshooting articles, there is no reference for the error codes.

I have googled this error message and there are three entries in Google search. What the heck am I supposed to do now?

  • Unfortunately the suggestions from Daniel do not work to resolve this problem. I was able to resolve the issue however by force deleting the folder using Powershell and then restarting the computer. This will prompt you to then setup your OneDrive account
again and will recreate the folder. This is done with the following command in Powershell (Run as Administrator):

    cd c:\users\<username>

    Remove-Item «OneDrive» -Recurse -Force

If the path to your OneDrive folder is different you will need to change directories to the location and use the appropriate folder name.

Note: Please make sure you have a copy of your data, or that the data in your OneDrive is up to date before doing this as it will delete all files.

  • I had the same problem recently but managed to solve it with Bitdefender File Shredder. The problem was 5gb of files that I couldn’t delete or move. I deleted them online, but they stayed offline. Eventually i saw the file shredder option and gave it a
try. This worked for me so I thought I’d share this.
