Do you run an AV add-in for your OL clients? Any recent updates to this that could be causing the issue? I would disable that and any other common add-ins between those clients to see what happens.

Ditto on checking the add-in’s, especially if the users have iTunes installed. I have had to disable «Outlook social Connector» (WTH?) on several of my users systems.

A shot in the dark, but have you tried running «outlook.exe -resetnavpane» from the Run command?

I have now tried to get Outlook 2010 working on different instances of both Vista and Win7. In all cases, I can get Oulook to run and work in cached mode with the exception of getting my Global Address Book to download and work when I am offline.
On my current installation, I have a fresh install of Vista Enterprise on a Laptop. The company image has Office 2007 so I immediately uninstalled 2007 and installed Office 2010. When I fire up Outlook it asks me to set up the first time….As
I do so it is set up to be run in cached mode, I get my email downloaded into an OST file and I can start working.When I go to Send/Receive Tab and Click Send/Receive Groups then download Address Book, I can see that Outlook is connecting to Exchange and definately downloads a series of files. If I look in …AppData/Local/Microsoft/Outlook/Offline Address Books/c4003324-………../
I see a number of tmp files being downloaded. Once the Send/Receive Progress bar counts down to zero, I see all of the files disappear and get the error noted above.I have confirmed that a colleague has Outlook 2010 working in our environment and can download the address book with no issues. I do not have access to Exchange Servers and our support on Outlook 2010 is not official yet. I am attempting to run
in an Early Adopter State which means that support is from the peer group. So far, I have not found anyone else that has any ideas inside our company, but I have posted to the internal sites asking the same questions.If I uninstall 2010 and go back to Office 2007, I was able to get Outlook 2007 to work as it should (Offline Address Book download works fine).
I would greatly appreciate any pointers or suggestions.

Thanks for the response.
The good news is that I have resolved the problem. A suggestion that came to me was scanost.exe It ended up that I appear to have had a challenge with the server side of my ost.
All good now.
