  1. Network printing: error code 0x0000046a,unable to install printer

I am not able to install My HP laserjet printer into windows vista OS compatible Acer PC. Though there is no issue with the windows OS. It working fine, I generally sometimes share the printer over my home network. The problem is occurred whenever I tried to ping the printer with the windows vista, it flashes an error code into the screen, “0x0000046a”. What type of problem is this, and why it is occurring any suggestion for me to overcome from this problem.

  2. Re: Network printing: error code 0x0000046a,unable to install printer

Try to install the printer into the windows vista system while the system is not connected with the network connectivity, along with also be sure that the printer hardware device driver is compatible with the windows vista OS. The problem might also happen for the online connectivity, connect the printer and wait till it auto detect the hardware device, after it will appear into the screen that the hardware is ready to use. Now run the installation program and follow the onscreen instruction. I hope in this way you will be able to install the printer.

  3. Re: Network printing: error code 0x0000046a,unable to install printer

I am also facing a problem with the HP LaserJet printer, this I am using with my windows 7 compatible dell PC. The printer and the other programs under the system was running fine till the last date, this starts occurring recently, the actual problem sir when I tried to print a document from my other system by connect via wireless connection, it appears a error message instead of appear the print dialog box, it shows that “operation cannot completed ” along with a error code, “0x0000046a”. I am not a technical person, so to apply any other trick I tried with the simple procedure, reboot my system along with reconnect the printer, after this it again appear the same problem. I am helpless, suggest me any trick to resolve this issue.

  4. Re: Network printing: error code 0x0000046a,unable to install printer

Though the printer is installed in your system, then I think this will be occurring for the printer driver, either this one outdated or massed with any other application, those are applied in your system, for that I recommend you to open device manager and right click on the printer device driver, now choose the online update option, it will collect the information about the update driver and then will direct you to install that one, replace that one with the existing one, otherwise download the latest one from manufacturer web site and replace with the earlier one which is installed in your system, I hope it will surely help you.

  5. Re: Network printing: error code 0x0000046a,unable to install printer

As per my opinion I also think that this is occurring for the printer itself, for that I would like to suggest you to reload the printer software in your system, this can be occurring for this . Remove the existing one and also remove the stored file from your hard drive, after that run the fresh installation. Go through this, I hope this will surely help you to resolve this issue.

Installing Network Printer On Windows 7 Error

Printer connnected to XP on a network. When trying to install the XP network printer on a Windows 7 machine, the following error comes up:

Cannot install printer 0x0000046a

The solution is to increase the IRPStacksize parameter on the XP that is connected to the printer.

Using regedit navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Parameters and right click on the IRPStackSize value. Default value is 15 so increase by 3 or 6 and then reboot the system.

  • Backup of Windows 7 — the system cannot find the specified path, error Code 0 x 80070003

I have serious problems back up my own machine to a share on our FILE SERVER as \\FILE-SERVER\Backup\

I have already backed up another PC using exactly the same settings I used on my PC successfully.  So I guess it’s nothing to do with the FILE SERVER or the backup settings.  There must be something to do with what I’m trying to backup of my machine.

First, some background.  This exercise was started when Windows Server 2008 r2 o/s fell one of our servers.  I tried to reinstall the operating system several times, without success.  In the end, I caught another drive and rebuilt the o/s on the server.  Then I got in trouble by promoting to a domain on the network controller.  In the end, I’ve renamed server FILE Server for FILE SERVERS.

We share regularly four records on what is now the FILE SERVER:

\\FILE-SERVER\Backup — a folder where the backups of all other devices are written, so that they will be saved with the server

\\FILE-SERVER\Company — contains all of the data of our company

\\FILE-SERVER\GEM — this is for our own database application

\\FILE-SERVER\Install — contains all the installation files for the software we use

These are all inmates on a RAID 1 array that is separate from the system drive that covered.

On my laptop, I had made these «Available offline» shared folders, while I still had everything that is available to me when I was away from the office.  They were of course shared under \\FILESERVER\… not \\FILE-SERVER\… Before the server down, I had backup works fine on my machine.

After having got the server up and going again, I started going there from the WIndows 7 Client PC backups again.  I started with a desktop computer, which of course have not all offline files.  This turned out to be relatively simple.

Then, I started with my machine.  Initially I did not ‘Available offline’ folders shared meanings.  I created my backup using exactly the same settings that had worked OK on the desktop.  But when I ran the backup I got:

The system cannot find the specified path, error Code 0 x 80070003

I tried all sorts of things to make it work:

    • with or without an image of the system.
    • reducing the backup in a single folder.
    • do it again ‘available offline files

Nothing makes no difference.  In the end, I looked in the Sync Center to look at the offline files folder.  Under mapped network drives I discovered that I still had the files and folders in \\FILESERVER.  In their Menu Popup ‘Always available offline’ is grayed out.  So I deleted the Copies offline.  This delete the files in the folders but not files.

Since I could find no way to delete the old mapped network drives.  I decided that I had painted myself into a corner.  So I bit the bullet and re-installed my laptop too.  This will get rid of the unwanted old mapped network drives — BUT NOT the ERROR!

HELP — I’m running out of ideas!

I have a WORD Document that all the settings that I used on the server and Clients, as well as the reasoning behind these settings, documents, but I can’t find a way to download.

    Hi Brian,.

These problems occur because the folders or libraries that you are trying to back up or restore include a reparse point.
Analytical points are similar to shortcuts Windows or Unix symbolic links. A point of analysis can be used to point to a file that is moved temporarily to a different drive. For example, a reparse point would a folder such as C:\DVD to point to drive E, the real DVD player.

Perform the steps from the link below and see if the backup works.

    Windows backup or restore 0 x 80070001, 0 x 81000037 or 0 x 80070003 errors

If you work with Windows Server 2008 and the mapped drives, I would recommend that you post the question in the TechNet forums.

The less you have to run all the time, most things you want to run will perform:

Use Autoruns to understand this all starts when your computer’s / when you log in.  Look for whatever it is you do not know using Google (or ask here.)  You can hopefully figure out if there are things from when your computer does (or connect) you don’t not need and then configure them (through their own built-in mechanisms is the preferred method) so they do not — start using your resources without reason.

You can download and use Process Explorer to see exactly what is taking your time processor/CPU and memory.  This can help you to identify applications that you might want to consider alternatives for and get rid of all together.

You can disable hibernation if it is enabled and you do not…

When you Hibernate your computer, Windows saves the contents of the system memory in the hiberfil.sys file. As a result, the size of the hiberfil.sys file will always be equal to the amount of physical memory in your system. If you don’t use the Hibernate feature and want to reclaim the space used by Windows for the hiberfil.sys file, perform the following steps:

-Start the Control Panel Power Options applet (go to start, settings, Control Panel, and then click Power Options).
-Select the Hibernate tab, uncheck «Activate the hibernation», and then click OK. Although you might think otherwise, selecting never under «Hibernate» option on the power management tab does not delete the hiberfil.sys file.
-Windows remove the «Hibernate» option on the power management tab and delete the hiberfil.sys file.

You can control the amount of space your system restore can use…

    1. Click Start, right click my computer and then click Properties.
    2. click on the System Restore tab.
    3. highlight one of your readers (or C: If you only) and click on the button «settings».
4 change the percentage of disk space you want to allow… I suggest moving the slider until you have about 1 GB (1024 MB or close to that…)
    5. click on OK. Then click OK again.

You can control the amount of space used may or may not temporary Internet files…

Empty the temporary Internet files and reduce the size, that it stores a size between 64 MB and 128 MB…

-Open a copy of Microsoft Internet Explorer.
    -Select TOOLS — Internet Options.
-On the general tab in the section ‘Temporary Internet files’, follow these steps:
-Click on ‘Delete the Cookies’ (click OK)
-Click on «Settings» and change the «amount of disk space to use: ‘ something between 64 MB and 128 MB. (There may be many more now.)
    -Click OK.
-Click on ‘Delete files’, then select «Delete all offline content» (the box), and then click OK. (If you had a LOT, it can take 2 to 10 minutes or more).
-Once it’s done, click OK, close Internet Explorer, open Internet Explorer.

Original title: Windows Update will not install on the new load XP

    Hi all

Thanks for your replies.  Sorry I didn’t answer sooner, but he got late last night, and I got to reregister the Qmgr.dll and Qmgrprxy.dll BITS files.

I clicked Start, click on run and typed the command following, and then click OK:

Start, run and in the run box, Type regsvr32 qmgr.dll, click OK.
Start, run and in the run box, Type regsvr32 qmgrprxy.dll, click OK.

I was then able to start the updates.  There are 124 updates, the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and the .NET Framework 3.5 Family Update for versions of .NET 2.0 to 3.5 (KB951847) x 86.  He downloaded 124 updates, but even once asked me to insert the disc for qmgr.dll when he was installing the 10th update.  I find the qmgr.dll file again and pressed OK, but it seems to hang forever and do nothing, then I simply cancelled updates and closed during the night.  I have been relieved to have solved the problem of BITS, but is concerned by the hang up on the tenth update installation and he called again for the qmgr.dll file during the installation of updates.

This morning, when I rebooted, it installed some updates at startup, and I restarted again.  He then held I first install the .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and the .NET Framework 3.5 Family Update for versions of .NET 2.0 to 3.5 (KB951847) x 86 to date.  N BITS issue for that.  It took time, but completed settle.  Restart again and now there are only 21 updates to high priority required.  My guess is that he downloaded all 124 updates last night, but when I cancelled the installation after hanging on #10, he just started to install it again this morning and did so successfully.

However, when I try to install the 21 remaining, he has not once again, and I find that the BITS service is not in the services again.  After I have re-enter the BITS service and restart it, the downloads are working again.

I am now what I may need to reinsert and restart the BITS service whenever I need to download an update.

Ideas, suggestions or comments?  I am slowly solve problems and if I persist, I can get this all taken care.

    Hi Dan,.

From what you wrote, I understand where you are getting confused. Here are the steps to follow to solve this problem.

Open the Windows search tool, copy / paste the following text, and then click Search: qmgr.dll

Research should show this file in the following locations:

    C:\Windows\System32
    C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\bits

I hope they are all present, follow these steps to register the service.

Click on start, run and copy/paste: regsvr32 qmgr.dll and click OK
(If you do not have the command run in the start menu, hit the Windows key + R, instead)

Do the same with this file: regsvr32 qmgrprxy.dll and then restart.

    Here are the next steps.

Copy / paste this command in the field to run, and then click OK
    %windir%\System32\rundll32.exe setupapi, InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132 %windir%\inf\qmgr.inf

Windows will launch a dialog box asking you to insert the Windows installation CD. Ignore this and change the way downstairs to C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386

The reason to change the path to the i386 folder is that the files that are there are newer than those on the Windows installation CD.

Then restart the PC again and continue with the rest of the troubleshooting steps.

Click on start, run and copy/paste the following and click OK: services.msc

You should now be able to see the Background Intelligent Transfer Service, or just «BITS» displayed in the list of Services.

Double click it to open BITS and then click on the Start button. This is just a test to make sure that it works correctly.

If you get 2 error: cannot find the specified file, click on start, then run again and copy / paste the following command, and then click OK:
    Tracking Add HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\BITS\Parameters /v ServiceDll /t REG_EXPAND_SZ /d %windir%\System32\qmgr.dll

Restart then try and start the BITS.

If you get the same error again, copy / paste the following text in the field run and click OK:
    Reg add HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\BackupRestore\FilesNotToBackup

Reboot once more and then try and start the BITS.

Let me know how you please.

  • Cannot install the updates, receive error message: automatic updates has been disabled by the administrator, but I don’t.

Original title: How can I, as an administrator, turn on automatic updates, whenever I try, I get an error message saying that automatic updates has been disabled by the administrator.  I didn’t do it, then?

    Question stands as is.

    Hello

    1. have you made any changes to the computer before the show?

    2. What antivirus application is installed on the computer?

    3. What are the different user accounts on the computer?

This problem occurs if Windows Update has been disabled by one of the following settings:

    · Group Policy

    · System policy

    · Registry

I suggest you follow these methods and check.

Method 1: Perform the clean boot and try to install the updates.

To do this, follow the steps in this link:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

Method 3: Turn off the antivirus application and try to download the updates and check.

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Method 4: Perform a full scan of the computer using the following antivirus applications.

    Microsoft Safety Scanner: http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

    Malicious software removal tool: http://www.microsoft.com/security/pc-security/malware-removal.aspx

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

  • Cannot install the update ‘KB3000850’, error A 80071, 90

    Separated from this thread.

I do not think that this problem is caused by not only not the update of KB2919355 previously installed.  I have a new laptop HP bought yesterday and started to install all updates Windows 8.1 last night.  Since it was a new PC, I had to install updates more than 60 who took me more time of 6 hours.  After three «restarts» after several installations of update, the only pending update was the «KB3000850». When I tryied to install it, I got this error «A 80071, 90.  I tried a ‘clean’ reboot and got the same error.  I then checked if I had the KB2919355 update installed, and this is, so this isn’t the problem.  Help, please.  Thank you.

    Hello

Thanks for posting your question on the Microsoft Community.

A 80071, 90 error appears when the files that are required by Windows are used (locked) by other programs. Programs, such as antivirus programs that run when Windows starts, can lock system files.

I suggest you to run the fixit from following link to see if it helps.

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/836941/en-us .

If it doesn’t, I would also say that you run the following commands at the command prompt.

Open an elevated command prompt. To do this:

    A. drag from the right edge of the screen and then click on Search. (If you use a mouse, point to the lower right of the screen and then click Search).

    B. type command prompt in the Search box, right click guestand then click run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click allow.

    C. type the following commands. Press ENTER after each command.

    1 DISM.exe / Online/Cleanup-image /Scanhealth

    2 DISM.exe / Online/Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

Note: It may take a few minutes for each operation in order to fill.

Close the command prompt and try to install the Windows updates.

If it does not, please go ahead and install the update manually by downloading from the Windows update website and check if it works.

I hope this helps. Keep us up-to-date with the State.

  • I usually have problems with the installation software online, cannot install the creative cloud error 202

The installation software that works online usually does not work on my mac, I can for example update adobe flash on my mac, never.
When I try to download the creative cloud for the error of the trial I get an error Code: 202 regardless of how many times I try to redownload the dmg and run the installation.
What I do with flash is usually wait a complete pack to be KMD and that works, I mean… when he can actually download the full pack and just install it instead of download an installer that requires even download stuff while doing the installation. I’m still some flash versions behind because of this.
Also, I was able to download the software from my pc and then install it on my mac, but I can’t find a link for creative cloud + photoshop trial.

In other cases, for example for new OS versions I can get the installer from another mac, as there are instructions for the installer to a version installed.

I need something like this available, including at — it something like that?

Make sure that your computer meets the specifications.

If it does and if you follow the 7 steps you can download directly here: Adobe CC 2015 Direct Download Links: Creative Cloud 2015 Release | ProDesignTools

If you have a problem from the download, you follow the 7 steps, or your browser does not accept cookies.

the most common problem is caused by failing to meticulously follow the steps 1, 2, and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system, allowing you to download the correct version of the adobe.com site).

failure to obtain this cookie translates into an error page displayed after clicking on a link on prodesigntools.com or initiates the download of an incorrect (e.g., current) version.

    • I am getting errors while trying to robocopy or GUI copy large files (50-60GB) from an old 2003 server to an 2012 R2 server.  After doing a lot of research, the answers that I am finding refer to older operating systems, so I am hesitant to try
them with Server 2012 R2.  Has anyone experienced error 1130 on Server 2012 R2 and resolved it?  If so, how?

    • Hi,

Important This article contains information about how to modify the registry. Make sure that you back up the registry before you modify it. Make sure that you know how to restore the registry if a problem occurs

      1.  Click Start | Run and type regedt32

      2. Locate the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Parameters

      3. Click Edit and Add Value with the following parameters:

          Name: MinFreeConnections

          Data Type: Reg_DWORD

          Decimal: 5

      4. Exit the registry editor

      5. Reboot the computer

If the above steps still cannot fix the issue, please try to follow the steps below.

      1.  Reduce the number of running programs;

      2.  Remove unwanted files from the disk the paging file is on and restart the system;

      3. Check the paging file disk for an I/O error;

      4. Install additional memory in your system.

      Best Regards,
      Frank

    • Frank,

Thanks!  That worked!  I tried the largest file I had first, which was 94gigs.  It took about a half hour to copy.  I made the change on a Windows 7 PC that I had tried before.  I did not change the servers because I did not want
to have to reboot them mid day.

The performance difference that I am seeing is that Standby Memory in the Resource Monitor is not expanding and replacing Free Memory (I saw this earlier and tried adding more memory to the VM and it made no difference).

I am now copying the rest of the files and it should be completed in about four hours.  I’ll post up the results, but it is looking good so far!
