  • I changed a user’s last name and email address from Active Directory and Exchange after she got married and now she is not able to create a new folder on her Desktop nor is she able to save to her desktop.

    We use roaming profile so I got her to login on another computer and she was still not able to create New Folder nor Save to desktop. When I login to her computer with my profile, I am able to create a new folder and also save to my desktop, so it points
    to one thing — Her User Profile.

    Please Help on what to do.

  • After much research, I realized that the reason for this problem is because the user’s folder redirection is pointing to the wrong folder (the previous profile folders before the name change).

    This is how I solved the issue.

    To change your default desktop location, do the following:

    — Open the Registry editor (Regedit.exe)
    — Browse to the location:
    — HKCU > Software > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > Explorer > User Shell Folders.

    — In the right window pane select the required value (i.e. Desktop).- Insert the new location for the folder to be stored.

    — Close the registry editor and log off.

    When you log back on your Windows 7 folder location such as the desktop, it will be stored at the new location. You do need to note that any content that was stored in the old location does not move with the change and will need to be moved from the old location
    to the new location before you will see it again.

Why did I get error 0x800401E5?

Windows Update continous fails to search for Updates or cannot install them. The source of this problem could be various things as

> Windows Registry
> Windows Filesystem
> Internet access

> Windows Update service
> File corruption
> Misconfiguration
> Adware
> Virus and Malware

However, if you’re technically savvy, you can try the steps below:

1. Click Start and start typing on your keyboard for «services.msc»

2. In your search results «services.msc» should show up. Open it with a click.
3. A new windows will open containing all Windows services on your system.

4. Search for «Windows Update»
5. Right-click the «Windows Update» and then click Stop.

We will now clean the Windows Update temporary cache folder:

1. Hold your windows-key pressed and hit «R» key simultanous.
2. A small new windows will appear.
3. Type %windir%SoftwareDistributionDataStore in this new window and click OK.
4. This will open Windows Explorer on the correct location.
5. Delete all contents of this folder. (Hint: Use Ctrl + A to select all files and folders)

Now we will start the Windows Update Service again:

1. Switch back to the windows Services.
2. Locate Windows Update.
3. Right-click on it and choose Start.

If the problem still persists, you can run the System File Checker (SFC) utility. This handy in-built tool will check your filesystem.

1. Click Start and start typing on your keyboard for «cmd».
2. In your search results cmd should show up with an black icon.
3. Right-click it and select Run as administrator.
4. If you are prompted for the admin password, enter the password and click OK.
5. A new completely black windwos will open. You can type commands directly into this window.
6. Type sfc/scannow and press Enter.
7. This process will take a long time. You can minimize this black windows and work on.

Come back to the black window after a time and check if the process finished.
As soon as the SFC process finished, restart your computer. After the restart you search for Updates again.

You are still facing the same issue?

1. Restart your computer.

Next thing is to clean Windows Update download path. These steps are only for expirienced user! If you mess up your computer with Regedit, you could loose your files! Take care or use a professional tool to investiagte your computer.

1. Hold your windows-key pressed and hit «R» key simultanous.
2. A small new windows will appear.
3. Type regedit in this new windows and hit Enter.
4. In the new windows you have a navigation on the left side. Use it to navigate to

5. Once you found it, search for WUServer and WIStatusServer in the right hand pane.
6. If they are not listet we cannot clean the download path. Othwerwise delete both.
7. Restart your computer.

Не прошло и 2х месяцев как винда слетела на 2х устройствах….на ноуте просто виснет намертво спустя некоторое время после запуска, на стационарном ПК тупо не запускается в обычном режиме, пишет что нужно восстановить систему. запускается только в безопасном режиме…жаль что из дистрибутива вырезана возможность восстановление системы
Осталось понять почему она слетела практически одновременно на 2х устройствах, ставилась тоже одновременно.
Команда sfc /scannow находит ошибки в обоих версиях винды…и лог тоже не генерируется

Всем привет!
Как и обещал спустя достаточное время на тест (три месяца) отписываюсь  :)
Напомню вот мое ведро

Вот что я сделал после установки

А вот шо я имею сказать: бессмертная как моя кошка, которая уже два раза в форточку пятого этажа выходила, семерка работает не нагибаясь! Напомню я делаю не сильно сложные сайты и 3-4 браузера по 15-20 вкладок в каждом открыты постоянно, плюс фотошоп и прога типа пейнта (так как автор решил что пейнт какаха) и в свободное время играю в игры, такие как Скайрим и чуть выше по требованиям.
Что ж, раньше переустановка винды была традиция как и пьянка каждую пятницу, после этой версии я с этим делом завязал  :)

Всем привет. Поставил Windows-Se7en-x64-Update-Exclusive-v.23569.161007-0600, перенес рабочий стол (и все что можно из профиля) на диск D:.
Теперь при создании новой папки или текст. файла на рабочем столе (правой кнопкой — создать), а так же при копированииперетаскивании файлов выдает: «Не удалось создать папку из-за непредвиденной ошибки. При повторном появлении этого сообщения об шибки выполните поиск по коду ошибки для получения справки по этой проблеме. Ошибка 0x800401e5: отсутствует объект соответствующий специальному имени».
Если зайти на  D:UsersUserDesctop и там создать новую папку, то все — ок. Если раб. стол на диске C: на своем «родном» месте — тоже нормально создается.
Гугл выдает что-то про «повредилась учетная запись». При создании нового профиля — то же самое.

(5) Это к автору писульки на нимфостарте, плз. Ты сохраняешь файл по пути для сервера, а потом пытаешся читать его на клиенте. А это возможно только в файловой базе или в случае когда сервер запущен на той же машине.

  • I changed a user’s last name and email address from Active Directory and Exchange after she got married and now she is not able to create a new folder on her Desktop nor is she able to save to her desktop.

    We use roaming profile so I got her to login on another computer and she was still not able to create New Folder nor Save to desktop. When I login to her computer with my profile, I am able to create a new folder and also save to my desktop, so it points
    to one thing — Her User Profile.

    Please Help on what to do.

  • After much research, I realized that the reason for this problem is because the user’s folder redirection is pointing to the wrong folder (the previous profile folders before the name change).

    This is how I solved the issue.

    To change your default desktop location, do the following:

    — Open the Registry editor (Regedit.exe)
    — Browse to the location:
    — HKCU > Software > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > Explorer > User Shell Folders.

    — In the right window pane select the required value (i.e. Desktop).- Insert the new location for the folder to be stored.

    — Close the registry editor and log off.

    When you log back on your Windows 7 folder location such as the desktop, it will be stored at the new location. You do need to note that any content that was stored in the old location does not move with the change and will need to be moved from the old location
    to the new location before you will see it again.
