Origin setup системная ошибка

First of all, I’d like to clarify that I’ve never used Origin before. This is my first experience with the platform and I gotta say… It’s not making a good first impression with me.

So first off (obviously), I tried downloading Origin onto my PC from the website. No problems there of course, but that’s literally the only thing that worked.

Went to my downloads and tried to originthinsetup.exe… (whatever «thin» means…) It immediately came up with an error stating that msvcp140.dll was not found, and then followed up with a second error message stating that vcruntime140.dll wasn’t found either. Wonderful. Oh, did I forget to mention that this is the latest version of the software.

Despite this, I wanted to give Origin a chance and try and fix the issue. The error messages recommended reinstalling the software in case that worked. I didn’t have any faith that trying this would actually achieve anything; but I tried anyway. Spoiler alert, It didn’t work. So then I referred to the forums to see if anyone else has experienced something similar. Yes. Yes they had. But sadly there was nothing that sounded truly identical to my issue so I gave up on finding answers (that’s the other reason why I’m writing this now).

One legitimately good idea that I got from the forums was to download an older version of originthinsetup.exe (from a provided link), install that version, then let it update automatically. And I had some success with this. The software installed and then it tried to update… but then it failed to update for some reason… However it did give me a link to download the latest version of the Origin setup. This latest version in question is inexplicably different from the one I initially downloaded from the official website; The file’s called originsetup.exe. And, much like the version I originally downloaded, this other new version just comes up with same errors as before when double-clicked on.

After this I downloading the latest versions of the specific .dll files that were missing, then putting them in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin folder (they downloaded as .zip files, and yes, I did extract them within the folder). The only problem with this is that this is for the folder for the «older» version that actually installed. In other words, the one that works. I have no way to access the inside of the new versions, for there is no folder as it cannot install. Attempting to open them with Notepad ++ just gives me what I assume is an encrypted version (unsurprisingly).

So here I am, stuck with two non-functioning versions of Origin setup, and one «working» version that just tries and fails to update, then giving me a link to download one of the aforementioned non-functioning versions.

Does anyone know what I should do to get it working???

1. Close Origin if it’s already running on your PC. You can use the Task Manager to double-check that all Origin-related processes are closed.
2. Press Windows + R on your keyboard. This will open the “Run” function on Windows 10.
3. In the search field, type %ProgramData&/Origin, and press OK at the bottom.
   
4. In the folder that opens (by initiating the search during the previous step), delete everything except the folder named Local Content. After deleting the files, close the window.
5. Again, press Windows + R on your keyboard. This time, type %AppData% in the search field and press OK at the bottom.
   
6. The “Roaming” folder will open, and you need to delete the Origin folder inside. Then, in the address bar, click AppData, open the Local folder, and delete the Origin folder from there as well.
   
7. Restart your PC (this is optional but recommended).

You have now successfully cleared Origin’s cache, which is the first step to dealing with the 6:0 install error.

It’s time to do a complete Origin uninstall.

Finally, download the latest Origin version from the official website, and install the client using the setup file.

If possible, install Origin in a different folder from the one you used before. This will maximize your chances of avoiding the 6:0 error.

2. Origin Error Code 10:0 (Corrupt Cache Files)

The 10:0 Error is another disruptive installation issue that prevents users from accessing their games.

This problem is made more distinctive by its solutions, which don’t appear to make much sense. This is why users became so frustrated with it, as they struggled to find a way to deal with the error for a long time.

One of the suggested fixes was performing a clean client reinstall, but that method was quickly found to be ineffective against the 10:0 error.

• Make sure your antivirus software isn’t blocking Origin or interfering with it.
• Ensure that you always start the Origin client as an Administrator.

Having completed those checks, your subsequent action should be to remove the OriginThinSetupInternal.exe file.

To do this, follow the steps below:

1. Run Origin on your PC.
2. Open your Task Manager and find the OriginThinSetupInternal task. Right-click it and select Open File Location.
3. In the folder that opens, the default of which is C:Program Files (x86)Origin, delete the OriginThinSetupInternal.exe file.
4. Close the File Explorer window and your Task Manager, then run Origin again. Make sure you run the client with administrator privileges.

You should now be able to use Origin without seeing the 10:0 error again.

Note: An alternative solution for this problem is to completely wipe the Origin folder using software such as CCleaner and then reinstall it (preferably in a different location) by downloading the latest stable client version from the official website.

A complete uninstall, as described above, will destroy your saved data, so proceed with caution if you care about your in-game progress.

3. Origin Error Code 20:2 (Insufficient Disk Space)

Of the errors in this list, this one is the easiest to handle. If you haven’t been using Origin for a long time, it can still be worrying to see the 20:2 error message, as it might not mean much to you.

In the end, this is simply a mysterious mix of numbers, and it has caused worry for a few users.

Thankfully, this mistake is due to not having enough room on your computer, so the answers are easy to find.

How To Fix:

There are two ways to overcome this problem.

• Reinstall Origin on a different drive with more storage space.
