Installed clean on N7.2 and got a 15001-cannot connect to network error. Tried clearing cache and deleting/reinstalling and same error. Any suggestions?

Same problem until I cleared data. Had to reenter netflix email and password but all was well after I did that.

Already done that. Cleared cache AND cleared data. Also tried deleting the app and re installing. Rebooting didn’t help.

At a total loss.

Had the 12001 error today. Went online on Netflix website and initiated a chat with a tech. He advised to go into settings, apps, Netflix then clear data. That worked for me. But try the help chat on Netflix website. They are very helpful.

Having the same problem. Tried the same solutions. No help. Netflix suggested I delete all my apps. Is that necessary? I spent a lot of time researching apps and download them.

All I did was log out and log back in. I haven’t had any problems since. But now I don’t see the option to make it full screen.

Was having that issue and I cleared cache cleared data and forced app, logged back in and all is working fine now.

I take back what I said earlier…I can’t even get past the load screen. Anyone else experiencing this?

  • #9

Had that happen and had to reboot then it worked. Current version doesn’t seem to like saving my login info either.

Rebooting worked. Thanks!

I have a nexus 7 (2013) rooted and unlocked, running 4.3 my Netflix is 4.2.1 build 950.
Every time I open the app I immediately get 15001 error and can go no further. I have tried clearing the data, uninstalling, and rebooting. Nothing has changed… Any ideas?

I’m guessing we have to wait for Netflix to fix the issues they have with Android 4.3. Force closing allows me to watch movies but eventually when I go back to watch something else it gives the error and I have to restart.

Same issue here. Cleared data, cleared cache and that didn’t work. Uninstalled and reinstalled. Same message every time «Sorry we could not reach the Netflix service…. (15001).

I had this same error (15001) with a brand new Nexus 7 (2013). I contacted Netflix support last evening and they were less than helpful. I uninstalled the Netflix app and went back to the Google Play Store to re-install it. I noticed that the page for Netflix app indicates that it is necessary to have the latest updates for the Nexus 7 HD. Since I had nothing to lose in doing the update, I went through the update process on the tablet (updated from the build that came on the tablet, JWR66N, to JSS15J), re-installed the Netflix app, and it now connects and runs just fine! I hope this addresses the problem that you are having.

I have not seen this error yet. I do have trouble trying to resume a movie after pausing for an extended time or backgrounding the app. Usually it won’t resume unless I kill the app. When it’s like this, the app also gets pretty unresponsive to taps, and the keyboard is delayed opening when tapping a text field.

Mine was upgraded to JSS15J the day I bought it, so that doesn’t fix the problem everyone.

Sorry for the noob question, but how do I update my build when I am rooted and using twrp?

I’m still on JWR66N.

I just bought a brand new nexus 7 for Netflix and I have the same error. I’m on the same JWR66N stock build. How do I update to JSS15J? The system update just says I am up to date already

I was able to solve my issue by updating my build. I found a «stock» build here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2382965
I just downloaded the zip then boot into recovery (twrp) and flash the aforementioned zip. Worked like a charm. I think I could actually have just got it directly from AOSP but either way, this works just fine. Though I just read that there is a new build pushing out today, to fix the phantom touch bug.

When you end up having a chance to relax a bit, the last thing you want to worry about is your Netflix that does not work. If you encounter Netflix Error 15001 while attempting to open the Netflix app on your Android phone or tablet, it usually indicates information about the device to refresh. Alternatively, your device may require a software update.

There are two possible causes of the Netflix 15001 error on Android

  • Netflix Error 15001 is mainly due to the fact that some data on your Android device needs updating.
  • This can also happen if your device needs a software update.

Solution to solve Netflix Error

Solution 1: Change the date and time settings to Automatic

  1. Press the Menu button.
  2. Select Settings.

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Now under the System section, tap on the About option.
  3. Now select the System Updates option.
  4. Here, install all pending software updates on your device.

If you are still facing Netflix Error 15001 on your Android device, follow the last solution below.

Solution 3: Restart your Android phone or tablet

  1. Turn off your Android phone or tablet by holding down the power button.
  2. Confirm that you want to turn off your Android.
  3. Press the power button again to turn your Android back on.

Solution 4 – Factory reset of your Android device

Factory Reset will delete all files and data from your Android device. So be sure to back up all your necessary data, then opt for this solution. To reset your Android device, follow the steps below.

  2. Under Personal section, tap the Backup and reset option.
  3. Now in the Personal Data section, tap the Reset Factory Data option.
  4. Read the information on your screen and click the Reset Phone option.
  5. When prompted, tap Clear All to erase all data on your phone. When everything is complete, click the Restart Your Device option.
  6. Once rebooted, connect to the network connection and reinstall all necessary applications, including the Netflix app, on your Android phone.

Just got my new tablet, tried to get netflix running. I took the following steps.

  1. Installed netflix, got 15001 error
  2. Ran system update, I am now completely up-to-date, error no longer occurs
  3. attempted to sign in, got the following error message:

«we’re unable to connect you to netflix please try again later»

  4. cleared cache, deleted local data, got the same error message

  5. uninstalled app, reinstalled, got the same error message
  6. uninstalled app, restart tablet, installed app. Got the same error message

I only get this error message when using the correct username/password, using a bad one gives an appropriate error. So it’s not a connection issue, just an authentication one. I have no idea what else to try.
