I was getting the dip4.dll error during the testing of processors during the 5 way Optimization. I tried everything that support threw at me including 3 different versions of AI Suite 3. I went through 2 other boards, same make model etc, 1st board had a bad Bluetooth after a week (AI Suite 3 Worked NO ISSUES), second board had onboard hardware (AI Suite 3 didn’t work properly, dip4.dll error started occurring), and my current board (dip4.dll error still occurring, NOW RESOLVED)
So I went through and disabled anything extra that wasn’t running when the AI suite 3 was working, in my case the only thing additional was the «Corsair Link», I disabled it.
My dip4.dll error went away. no more error, at least for me
My setup is;
Windows 10 Pro
ROG Strix X99 Gaming
2 x EVGA 1070GTXs
1 x EVGA 760GTX
Corsiar AX1200i
Corsair Vengeance 16gig
Hopefully this helps others with similar issues

I keep having this problem where I get this error and I know it has to do with ai suite because if its not installed I don’t have the problem, not to meantion all the ai suite problems I’ve read about searching for the answer to my problem. The error says: Access violation at address 04BD2A34 in module ‘dip4.dll’ Read of address FFFFFFF7. Can anyone help? My rig is not my sig under Bones & Black.
Why do you need AI Suite for your system ?? I can’t seem to find any features that the Asus Suite provides that other 3rd party program do not provide and be better at that. As for the error itself, it may be a registry error. You could try uninstalling the suite and cleaning any left over registry files with CCleaner and then try re-installing the suite.
Tried that multiple times. I also tried cleaning up the registry with Ccleaner. I have uninstalled AI Suite 3 and deleted all t races of it and then re-installed it. I have change things so they are not read only. I have made all users run as administrator in all the ai suite application files, including the resource folder application ones.
I want to auto oc my CPU because it is so much faster to do it that way and I don’t need a really aggressive oc for my system; 4.3 GHz with 6 cores and unparked hyper-threading should be more than enough than I will need but I still want an oc on my CPU for GPU benchmarks like 3dmark and Unigine.
Does any one know how to fix this?

If you are referring to that button that dynamically increases the multiplier of your cpu to set the overclock, i would recommend against it. Setting your overclock through the bios is far better and gives more control than what the crap AI suite could ever give. If the system in your sig is the one for which you are looking to overclock, i’d search for a few guide’s on the subject
Here’s one
While you’re right and I can get better OCs using the BIOS, I don’t have the time to both learn and then spend a whole day OCing my CPU. I’d gladly take an OC hit just so it is an easier and stable method to OC. Its not a button you press, its an application that increases the voltage and multiplier at the same time dynamically, testing out first 3 cores then all six, has an option for BCLK OCing, can run a test that tells what the min and max RPMs are for your fans an at what voltage that is, and does 2 more different application control systems including a RAM oc and something else that I don’t quite understand. I’ve gotten a 1 GHz+ OC with this application and got RAM at a little over 3000 and at stock its 2400.
TLR: I want to use AI Suite because its easy and I get reasonable results.

…I use AI Suite once in a while, and I have had the error you describe before as well…search for ‘rog.asus.com cleaner’ and you’ll see a zip file (to download, you must sign up @ Asus) …follow the instructions in ‘cleaner’ to the letter (ie re sequence of steps) and that will clean everything up…then you can re-/ install an up-to-date AI Suite
…btw, raja@asus is on OCN, you may want to PM him if you still have issues

Still had problems. I contacted @raja@asus though so hopefully my problems will be over soon.
If would be of any help, I had the exactly same problem, and did almost all you did with no result…
Solution I had for this matter on my computer (Z99-A board)
1- total unninstall the AllSuites3, using revo pro (no boot until revo finnish advanced mode)
2- reboot
3- download from asus the latest version of AllSuites3 (mine was the original that came with board 1.00.85) and the latest is 1.01****.
4- install this latest version, using «select all»
5- reboot and be happy!!!
I know i’m 4 months late to the party on this thread but this is what fixed the annoying Asus errors.
I had the same issues not exactly as this and stumbled on the root cause in a post in a different site’s forum I found this…
Go into Task Scheduler
Click ASUS
You’ll see a bunch of scheduled tasks.»At Logon of User» etc etc
I deleted the one that was causing the popup message and never had it again.
I know this isnt a perfect solution but at least the messages stop.

So did you ever fix your problem ?
I can see from this thread that Asus Suite 3 5-way optimization auto-over clocking is not too popular with experienced over clockers. I can understand that as it probably does not do the best job and having an (almost) 1 button overclock kind of takes the challenge and fun out of doing it. That said, I am just starting to get into it and gearing up for my second build, that I plan to overclock as best I can. To that end, I am just starting to play with Asus AI Suite 3. The computer I tried it on is a work computer that I use every day which is stable and runs fine. I am playing around with AI Suite 3 on this machine to familiarize myself with the over clocking capabilities of the program which I plan to use for the new build I am doing.
This system is basically an I7 5820K running in an Asus X99-Deluxe with 16GB of DDR4 RAM. I installed AI Suite 3 and it starts OK. I tried to run Fan Expert 3 just to check it out before trying 5-way optimization. When I select Fan Auto Tuning, I get a confirmation box that says «Do you want to continue?» I click YES and get the following error. «Access Violation at address 04C4D*D4 in module ‘dip4.dll’. Read of address FFFFFFF7». I can click OK in that box and then the error box disappears. After that, AI3 just sits there and does nothing. Clicking STOP gives me the same error message. I can’t go back to the main AI Suite 3 menu. I can’t do anything in AI Suite 3 except exit the program. When I restart it, it comes up OK but does the same thing again. I have tried rebooting and uninstalling and reinstalling AI Suite 3.
After failing with Fan Auto Tuning, I went ahead and ran 5-way optimization (Fast). The system immediately went into shutdown — not a crash — Windows 7 doing an orderly shutdown. After it rebooted, I had to log in. AI Suite 3 does not start to run. If I try to start the program again manually, I get the following 2 errors —
Dipawaymode — The remote procedure call failed. A few seconds after that I get the second error — Aisuite3 — The remote procedure call failed. I can click OK in each error box and they disappear. AI Suite 3 does not appear in the task bar — I don’t think it loaded. If I try to start it again, I immediately get the second error — Aisuite3 — The remote procedure call failed. That is all it will do until I uninstall and reinstall it.
This computer has a lot of programs loaded on it and a lot of things that run in the tack bar. I shut all of them down that I could before I tried the 5-way optimization, if that means anything.
Thanks for any help !!

If I leave the error box open, an infinite loop of another error continues to open. «Access violation at address 03ABAC18 in module ‘dip4.dll’. Read of address 006C00A4.»
These error windows are titled «Aisuite3», and occur on startup and every time I try to launch AISuite3.
Additionally, when I close these two windows, there is a third error behind them: «The remote procedure call failed.» It is titled «Dipawaymode»
I have tried restarting. I have tried installing an updated version of AISuite. And I have tried doing a clean install of AISuite. Does anyone know how I can fix this issue?

There’s an update for AI Suite 3 for MAXIMUS VII motherboars i’m not sure if you have the same board but here’s the download link for it.
http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/misc/utils/AISuite3_Win7-8-81-10_M7IGFHR_V10102.zip
Do a clean install to make sure it will install properly.
