• Firstly, launch the Destiny 2

• If the steam_appid.txt file is not there, it should be in the x64 folder.

• Launch the Steam
• In the top left corner, Click on the Steam
• Go to the Settings
• Click on the Download
• Click on the «Clear Download Cache» button.
• Click on the OK

Make sure your antivirus software isn’t blocking Destiny 2 from launching. Add the «Destiny2.exe» application to whitelist in your Antivirus / Windows Security.

You can try to changing the monitor’s cable connection. I don’t know why, but Jokuhrax’s problem was solved in this way.

Issue has been fixed. Reading your posts (specifically the one to adjust NVIDIA control panel settings) prompted me to check out a few things and realize that I had been playing the game through a KVM switch that was using a USB to HDMI converter to get to the KVM switch. The game either does not like that converter or the device driver associated with graphics going out of the USB port. Once I switched back to using a DVI cable directly from the computer to the monitor, everything started working again.

You should change the language on Steam.

• Go to the Steam library.
• Right-click on Destiny 2
• Select Properties.
• Go to the Language tab.
• Select a different language. For example, if your default language is Polish, change it to English.
• Click on the Close button.

• Exit the Steam.
• Go to the folder where Destiny 2 is installed. (Steam Library > Right Click on Destiny 2 > Properties > LOCAL FILES > BROWSE LOCAL FILES)
• Delete everything except the packages folder.

• After the deletion is complete, run Steam and go to the Steam library
• Right-click on Destiny 2, and click on the Properties.
• Go to the LOCAL FILES tab
• Press the VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME FILES button.

I found this, maybe it’ll help. It’s very similar to the seventh method.

i just fixed mine!!!
1) Head to C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Destiny 2 

2) move you destiny 2 exe into a new folder on your desktop (do not delete your destiny 2 exe)

3) delete everthing in your destiny 2 folder but the 3 folders (do not delete Bin, fonts, packages)

4) verify the files on steam while they are verifying immediately take your destiny exe and put i back into your C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Destiny 2 let the game verify.

5) start game

Uninstall and reinstall Steam. If possible, install it on a different Local Disk.

• Для начала убедитесь, что у вас установлено последнее обновление ПО PlayStation 4 и все обновления для Destiny 2. Проверить наличие обновлений для консоли можно в Настройках PlayStation 4, для игры — в меню, появляющемся после нажатия на Options.
• Обновление не помогло. Если вам не нужна русская локализация, то переключите язык системы на английский — в этом случае Destiny 2 точно запустится нормально. Язык системы переключается в меню Настроек PlayStation 4.
• Если вы все же хотите играть с нормальной локализацией, то есть еще один вариант. Удалите Destiny 2 с консоли, выключите (а не перезагрузите) устройство, затем снова включите и заново установите игру. Возможно, с первого раза ничего не получится — придется снова повторить удаление/выключение/установку. У нас игра заработала с третьего раза.

The error already suggest that it has something to do with the game files. Well, they either might be corrupted, or something is preventing them from being read.

How to Fix Problem Reading Game Content – Destiny 2

Before anything though, make sure that all of your GPU drivers are updated to the most latest official update. On top of that, you need to see also whether your OS – operating system is up to date.

Verify Game Files

1. Open your Steam application.
2. Go to your game library.
3. Find Destiny 2 and then right-click. You should see Properties here, kindly click on it.
4. Navigate to the Local files tab and then press on “Verify Integrity of Game Files”.
5. Let it run for a bit and then try whether your game works!

Dedicated GPU

1. Open your Start menu.
2. Type in “Graphics Settings” and then press enter.
3. Press “Browse” and then find Destiny 2 on your system. Select all of the executable files for it.
4. Set a power mode that has your GPU on it, usually High Performance mode.
5. Launch Destiny 2.

Clear Steam Cache

1. On Steam, go to Steam > Settings.
2. Go to the Downloads tab and then press “Clear Download Caches”.
3. Click OK to accept the clearing of your cache.
4. Start Destiny 2!

Reinstall

I don’t think that I need to elaborate and showcase in detail how to uninstall a game. Pretty sure most of you already know how to do so, since you are playing Destiny.

Unfortunately, this is the last resort and you should contact Bungie support if this doesn’t work. All of the methods cover most of the reasons on why this error might occur.

So, if it’s none of the ones mentioned above, then sadly it’s way above my pay grade. As far as I can discern, this issue started happening after a recent Destiny 2 update, and it is probably related to GPU/Integrated Graphics issue.
