You cannot just code a used kombi to another car.
Even if you have a kombi with lower mileage, you will still get the damper dot because of the different vin inside the kombi compared to cas.
You need to get a new kombi or virginise the used one.

replace m35080 eeprom with a new one. Then code the instrument cluster to your car and it will be ok.

Hi Guys,
I have a BMW E92 and my ECU got flooded. I’ve bought a new ECU and installed it to the car.
Would someone be so kind and guide me on how to properly program it to the car?
The car starts and drives, but I do have weird issue with it.
I’ve tried coding with various tutorial, but with no luck..
Currently My lights are working but sometimes flickering and the high beams not working at all, also the driver side window switch doesn’t do anything, but passenger side one works just fine(using the key I am able to lower the window up and down).
DCS also doesn’t work.
I’ve tried coding with NCS-Expert and WinkFP but with no Luck.
Thank you in advance,
G

The units with immobilizer you can’t change vin through coding. For CAS you have yo do it on bench with special tools

The «new» ECU is brand new from dealer or a «new» used one? Do you have ISTA P? Try to use it if you not sure what to do manualy. ISTA P will do anything for you just remeber to click that the DME was replaced.
DME and CAS must be synchronised and have matched ISN codes.

Retrofitting 2009 M3 cluster into 2007 335i
So I got me an M3 cluster for cheap. Popped it in and the gauges work but all the the service info shows «—» and it has a lot of options that don’t match with iDrive options.
I tried writing a blank MAN file but it gave me this error
COAPI-2063: error verifying coding data
SG bereits auf andere FG-Nummer codiert, Codierung abgebrochenI found how to update VIN numbers on modules with WinKFP and flashed the module two times with my VIN but it still reads the old one in INPA? Also got an error now «Speedometer malfunction» and tachometer stopped working.
I searched and found that for e46 the VIN and mileage were in M35080 chip. Is it same for E90? Do I need to buy a programmer to change the VIN? The mileage stays same when I swap the modules around so it’s stored somewhere else.

Have you tried using tool32 to change the VIN?
-
No I have not. Will try it tonight.

No good

just a little tip…… any M3 or M5 cluster bought 2007 or after, the M35080 chip will only be a read only chip… if youve bought a cluster before that, then it is both read and writable.
-
So I do need to buy a programmer and desolder the chip, right?
-
Quick question, can I just swap the M35080 chip from my old cluster into the new one? Will it work?

Mr dark chocy my freind , is that the same for the E60 clusters as well?
-
Ok so I opened both clusters up. I found M35080 on my 335 cluster just fine
But on M3 cluster I have this chip instead.
Is that M35080 ? Can I swap them around?
-
Ok well since I get no replies I’ll just update the thread.
I swapped the chip around and the M3 cluster was working fine except the LCD screen part. There was nothing on it. I tried both LCD screens and neither worked.
I had the correct VIN number in the INPA and was able to code the cluster just fine and no errors on iDrive but the screen never worked. So I had to swap the chip back

sorry buddy had no internet for a while, was house moving.
what year vehicle did your M3/M5 cluster come out from????
because bmw like to change their set ups frequently
if its 2006 onwards your M chip is read ONLY
if its 2005 or under your M chip is reprogrammable as it is a read/write chip.
since this is a sensitive subject pm me and i’ll happily answer your questions

HI,
sorry for digging out the old thread..
But i have the same Problem, i wanted to retrofit the M3 cluster in a 2005 130i.
Somebody soldered a new chip in the m3 cluster, but the data on the chip are wrong. When i read it out with inpa, it says that the production date is in 1220
And the LC-Display doesn’t work, too. Is this related to the defective chip? When i solder in a new chip, will the lcd work?
Has anybody a correct dump from this EEPROM?
-
Anybody know coders in the U.S. especially California?
Anybody no local Cali coders?
-
A bit of coding will not work. You also need to flash the CAS…

When I did the FA write, that returned the other change I have coded to stock — digital speed. I’ve attempted numerous times to re-code it, but it never takes effect. In every instance, it says coding active, then coding ended and the car bings. Crank the car — no digital speed. Read the Kombi again — its still nicht_aktiv.
I’ve noticed there are 5 different Kombi ecus — 5 — 9. I’ve tried selecting each one individually to see if something is wrong with one of them, but before I code, I also validate the file and its never given me an error. I have received the following message, but only when choosing one of the KMBI_PL2.c0* -not when selecting CAS, then processing KOMBI, and reading it.
The message I get when using the .C0* Ecu is:
Error in CABD! Look at CABI.ERR and ERROR.LOG!
COAPI-2063: Eror on comparing/verifying coding data SG bereits auf andere FG-Nummer codier, Codierung abgebrochen
COAPI-2063: Error on comparing/verifying data SG_CODIEREN
I’m sure I must have messed something up when doing the TPMS disable, but not exactly sure what. Anyone have any pointers?

Were you using expert mode?
Yup. I have Joe’s NCSExpert setup and I was using ExpertMode rather than CNCoding. I feel like a dummy because I think I did the same thing months ago, lol. Most instructions tell people to use some weird profile and they usually have expert mode in the name, so I figured, oh, expert mode is expert mode. Apparently not.
I’ve coded enough stuff now that I should know better, I just don’t do it very often. Maybe once every 7 months or so.
