So I have an RX 580 and yesterday I updated my GPU driver manually from 20.4.1 to 20.4.2. I installed the driver, but it seems that I can’t get to the AMD Radeon Software (from right click on desktop and selecting the option).
Everytime I tried to open it like that it always comes up with the AMD Radeon Software installer detecting something, and then it always ends up with the » Error 186 – Radeon Software Install Cannot Proceed as Some Files Have Been Detected as Missing. Please Re-Download the Radeon Software Installation Package»
I have tried to uninstall the driver with DDU, and reinstall it again, and it doesn’t work. Same goes with the 20.4.2 and the stable drivers, it always ends up with the same error.
Any help would be much appreciated!

I closed the driver update while it was mid update and now that I’m trying to update the driver again, I get error 186 — AMD Installer cannot continue due to missing or corrupted manifest files. I would try to find the new, semi-installed driver to delete it, but I have no clue how to find it. aslo i gave tried uninstalling drive throgh ddu but still getting this error plz help.(laptop model acer ntro AN515-42)

Never-mind.. solved it.
I would recommend going more in depth with the install but here are the steps I did:

Enter Test Mode for Driver Signature(Sucks, but you will have to stay in it if you want to keep up to date.)

Download AMD Software. Make Sure to choose specific graphics package(My first mistake was not doing this):
Choosing «Graphics», «Radeon™ RX Vega Series», «Radeon™ RX Vega Series», and «Radeon™ RX Vega 64». Click «Submit».
3)Deploy them as intended, by launching the executable, and unpacking them. By default, they will extract to «%SystemDrive%/AMD». -
Download the Github files.

Find the new AMD files, find and enter Config folder, move/copy the InstallManifist.json file from the github config and over write the AMD one.

Drill down into the AMD packages, should be something like this:%SystemDrive%\AMD\Win10-Radeon-Software-Adrenalin-2020-Edition-X.X.X-XXX\Packages\Drivers\Display\WT6A_INF». Do the same with the github file, move/copy U0369924.inf and over write the AMD one.
6)Start install like normal and enjoy.

Hi! I have a question about dx vs vulkan.
If a game supportx both dx9 and dx11 and I have two scenarios:
1. Game launches in dx9 > vulkan
2. Game launches in dx11 > vulkanWhich way is better in performance on terascale latest driver installed with split kernel option on W11? 1 or 2?
(this game is league of legends so its hard for me to objectively judge due to uniqueness of ich game launch)

Because I prefer it over w10, the OS shouldn’t be an issue, or at least is not mentioned. Still haven’t figured a solution to the problem though, also tried to install uwp radeon software but with no luck, changed all kind of dependencies, installed them with the tool and as standalones but nothing. If anyone has faced my same problem and is willing to help would be very appreciated. Thx

Use CRU’s Restart.exe so it restarts the driver and fixes dropped FPS on YouTube. You need to restart your browser as well.

Thanks for the work you guys always put in… I have a question about the tool kit.. besides the rebar I always just activate a bunch of stuff that conceivably could make a performance diff but its not clear if it does for my card or perhaps might even effect my system negatively…and the toolkit keeps growing
is there anything in that toolkit that would probably give me more FPS in a game like fortnite from my RX570?

Lowering resolution is your best choice.
Game such as fortnite I think you can get more performance from fine tuning your RAM (memory on motherboard, not gpu )
Tightening ram timings always have positive gains on cpu heavy multiplayer games. -

(edit: perhaps I should really go back to dx12.. the DXnavi from the modded drivers enabled me to play the perfmode dx11.. and Ikinda fell in love with the look and feel and visibility in certain scenarios.. but the dx12still seems to perform better from a stable fps pov)
my res is down to 1600/900… I have used the ‘memory try it’ option in bios.. now its on xmp 2. perhaps I should try to go up again. It always kinda confuses me that people say FN is cpu heavy cause my cpu r5 2600 is having it very easy.. like around 40% util while my rx570 is at 100%. i wish FN was heavier on my cpu if it got me some performance.
id like to have the fps reasonably stable at the 141 cap (iheard setting fps just under the monitor refresh rate means more smooth gameplay) but it looks like an utopia to have it stable at that fps.. while in creative (empty 1v1) maps. yes high fps perhaps 300 to 400 even is possible.. but in game (looking at the sky I get 300 too but thats useless lol) it ranges from 220 down to like 90 when it gets busy in congested areas or during drops where a lot of things need to be rendered.

Same here 22.8.2 for Legacy GCN… blue color flickering in games, if i install color fix, then AMD software will not open and official way of installing driver is showing error. Anyway guys, thanks for keeping alive my old 7970 in new games.

Try using alternate installer method, if the result still nothing, redownload the driver, make sure you are using official Windows ISO at least newer build versions

have a 390hz monitor but for some reason that option is missing on my amd gpu (works fine if i put back my old nvidia)
even with cru/amd custom resolution im unable to get it working
is it somehow blocked in driver? if so, possible to lift that restriction?

I might be in the wrong place here, esp seeing that in the OP it suggests Win10 1809. I’m running a 6700xt on Windows 8.1, currently with a manual installation of Win7 22.6.1 (which I just learned is basically 21.5.1?). There are some problems with it, mainly I have to disable hardware acceleration in my browser, VLC, and Kodi. Recently discovered issues with ray tracing, too, but that’s not the end of the world.
Anyway, the thing I’d love to try is getting the regular installer running, but it flags Win8.1 and won’t even start, despite the driver files having coding for it. That search lead me here.
Would this modified drivers package be worth trying out in my situation or is it very much only for Win10? Thanks in advance!
