Thanks for the tips. I did all that. It does work now, but I have to run the programm as an administrator. If I don’t do that I will not start and I get the Error 11 again.

Hey! I have the same problem. I am creating a fillable pdf, I go to save as a Reader Extended PDF — Enable More Tools and the same message comes up. Have you got to the bottom of it yet?

I am seriously about to send the form to Adobe so they can make the form for me instead of me sending them an invoice for the amount of time I have wasted trying to get this form sorted.

Problems:

1. When trying to save form the error message comes up

Adobe Issue 1.JPG

2. Then I can’t save any copy of the form that I have just created. It looses some of the images that are on the form. I close the doc and click «Save» and it won’t close the program down.

3. In not one of the community forums is there any answer to this issue.

I am using Acrobat Pro DC 2020.009.20074

Troubleshooting Premiere Pro: Network error when trying to transcribe sequence please ensure you are connected to the internet, then try again (-1597177841) Transcribe button greyed out.

If you are reading this article then chances are you encountered an error when trying to transcribe a sequence, received the dreaded ‘please ensure you are connected to the internet, then try again (-1597177841) and noticed that the Transcribe button is greyed out’ error in Adobe Premiere Pro. Sadly, Adobe Premiere Pro is full of annoying occasionally when trying to create auto subtitle for your project using transcribe sequence. well, fear not! we have a solution for you. In today’s article, we will look at the issue and how you can troubleshoot your problem.

Why is Transcribe button greyed out and not Working?

One of the most common reasons for this issue is that the Adobe Creative Cloud is not installed on your System. The Transcribe feature in Premiere Pro relies on Adobe’s servers to transcribe your audio, and the Creative Cloud app is required to establish a connection to these servers. If you don’t have the Creative Cloud app installed, you may see the network error when trying to transcribe.

How to fix the ‘Transcribe button greyed out’ Error

Here’s a step-by-step guide for fixing the ‘Transcribe button greyed out’ error in adobe premiere pro.

  • Step 1: Go to the Adobe official website and download the Creative Cloud app.

    Transcribe button greyed out.

  • Step 2: Sign in with your Adobe account or Sign up using Google Account.

  • Step 4: Close Adobe Premiere Pro and re-open it.

  • Step 5: Click on the Transcribe button

why transcribe button is grey out in premiere pro

Voila! The Transcribe button should be available to use, So that is every way that we were able to find that could potentially fix the Network error when trying to transcribe sequence. This should fix the network error, and you should be able to transcribe your audio again in Adobe Premiere Pro. it’s that simple.

The reason why this error occurs is that when you install Adobe Premiere Pro, you may not have installed the Creative Cloud app or used a Cracked version of the software. By installing the Creative Cloud app, you will have access to all the features of Adobe Premiere Pro, including the Transcribe button.

Still not working?

if you are still having trouble with the transcribe feature even all trying all the solutions mentioned above, it’s possible that there may be a bug or issue with the software itself. In this case, you may need to reach out for help. Whether through customer support or online communities, there are often resources available to help you by searching these resources.

  • One potential solution is to turn off your VPN if you are using one. Sometimes VPNs can interfere with the software’s ability to connect to the internet, resulting in the network error. By turning off your VPN, you may be able to resolve the issue.
  • Another solution to try is to check if you have multiple versions of Premiere Pro installed on your system. Adobe allows multiple versions of their CC apps to coexist on the same Computer. If you are having trouble with the transcribe feature in one version of Premiere Pro, you may be able to make it work in another version.

Hopefully this article on «Troubleshooting Premiere Pro: Network error when trying to transcribe sequence Transcribe button greyed out» was helpful to you by following the steps and keeping your software up to date, you can prevent and resolve issue with the Transcribe feature and continue creating high-quality video content with ability to generate automatic captions and subtitles using the Transcribe feature.

Lets us know your thought down in the comments below as usual. Happy editing!

I have several users on a 2012 RDS server that access a PDF from a Server 2012 windows file server. This PDF has many fillable fields like Name: with an empty text box next to it.

Sometimes when the users open this PDF everything is missing except the fillable text fields. If they try to save the file they get the following error:

the document could not be saved. an unexpected network error occurred

Obviously, this sounds like a networking error, but 2 things.

1) The terminal server and the file server on both VMs on the same ESXi host, using the same SAN. Seems unlikely to be a networking error. No other networking errors on any server.

2) This doesn’t happen to every user, it seems to be only affecting 3 of about 40 right now, and it doesn’t happen all the time.

Any thoughts? I have checked to see if there were any hidden lock files, but that wasn’t it. Google-fu turned up nothing. When a user accesses a file from a file share, where do the lock files get created? I see no lock files in the shared folder, are they in the user profile somewhere?

Only other avenue I’ve considered: Is this a problem with how Server 2012 handles simultaneous users accessing the same file? The file is pushed out with GPP.

Aside from just nuking the affected users profiles I’m not sure what else to try. Adobe is up-to-date.

Thanks for your help

The error message “Acrobat failed to connect to a DDE Server” occurs when users try to merge multiple files into one PDF. This error has been there for quite some time and Acrobat even acknowledged it in an official post on its website.

Fatal Error: Acrobat failed to connect to a DDE Server

Fatal Error: Acrobat failed to connect to a DDE Server

When experiencing this error message, users reported that their computer got stuck or went in a hanged state where they were unable to do anything. After a while, they got prompted with this error message. Even though the message looks frustrating and may hamper the performance of your computer, the steps for fixing it are very simple and straightforward.

Like mentioned before, this error message is ‘mostly’ caused by the software malfunctioning when you are combining several files into one PDF. The reasons in more elaboration why this error message occurs are:

  • Acrobat became overloaded or went in an error state when you tried to merge multiple files into one PDF.
  • The application is not installed properly or has some missing files.
  • There are some problems in the registry of Acrobat software.

Before we start with the solutions, make sure that you have administrator access on your computer with an active internet connection.

Solution 1: Updating Acrobat Software

Before we move on to the technicalities, make sure that you have the latest version of Acrobat installed on your computer. Like mentioned before, it has officially recognized the error in its website. According to Acrobat, the problem is solved with an update which was released to all versions installed in user’s computers.

Updating Acrobat: Adobe official website

Updating Acrobat: Adobe official website

Make sure that your Adobe software is updated to the latest build available. You can easily check by navigating to the official download website and downloading the software release.

Another thing which you should note is that support for Acrobat 11 is ended by the company. This means that there will be no technical support or runtime distribution. This affects the cumulative and security updates of the product. Hence you should update to Adobe Acrobat DC.

Solution 2: Changing registry values

Changing your Windows registry was the official fix to the solution proposed by Adobe in its official website where it acknowledged the error message. This is the most efficient solution out there to this error message where the key ‘AcroviewA18’ is changed to ‘AcroviewR18’. Make sure that you backup your registry just in case so you can always revert changes if things go bad.

Note: Registry editor is a very powerful tool. Changing items which you don’t know about can make the problem worse. Make sure that you only change the keys which are mentioned below.

  1. Press Windows + R, type “regedit” in the dialogue box and press Enter.
  2. Once in the registry editor, navigate to the following registry key:
  HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\acrobat\shell\open\ddeexec\application
  1. Right-click on the key and click Modify.

Modifying Acrobat registry values: Registry editor

Modifying Acrobat registry values: Registry editor
  1. Change the key “AcroviewA18” to “AcroviewR18“. (Here, the value of A and R depends on the version of Acrobat installed. For example, for Acrobat 2018, the value will be A18.)

Changing the key "AcroviewA18" to "AcroviewR18"

Changing the key “AcroviewA18” to “AcroviewR18”
  1. Now restart your computer properly and try launching Adobe Acrobat again. Check if the error message is solved.

Note: The ’18’ in the registry key might change to ’19’ if you have a newer version of Acrobat.

Solution 3: Disabling Antivirus software

Another reason why you might experience the error ‘Acrobat failed to connect to a DDE Server’ is because of interference from Antivirus software. When you try to merge several files into one, it requires copying all the data and combining all of it at a single point. This is where they flag the process as a false positive and misleadingly blocks the process.

Disabling Antivirus Software on Windows 10

Disabling Antivirus Software

This scenario was also documented on the official website. There are several noticeable Antivirus features such as Symantec Endpoint who block this feature. You can read our article on How to Turn Your Antivirus Off.

Solution 4: Disabling ‘Protected mode on startup’

Protected mode is meant to provide an additional layer of security to the user’s computer. In this mode, all the malicious PDF documents cannot launch arbitrary executable files on your computer nor can make any changes to the registry.

This feature, even though seems useful, was seen to be bugged. When users disabled this feature, they seem to get rid of the error message instantly. We can try this and see if it works.

  1. Open Adobe Acrobat and press Ctrl + K. Now select Security from the left navigation bar.
  2. Uncheck the option ‘Enabled Protected mode on startup’ and set the Protected view as Off. Also, uncheck the option ‘Enable Enhanced Security’.

Disabling security features - Acrobat in Windows 10

Disabling security features – Acrobat
  1. Now restart your computer completely and launch Acrobat. Check if the error message is resolved.

These solutions should fix the issue at hand just fine. If these solutions don’t work for you, before reinstalling the software, make sure that you try the following tips:

  • Press Windows + R, type “services.msc” and press Enter. Once in services, check for the service ‘Network DDE’ and ‘Network DDE DSDM’ and make sure they are enabled.
  • End the process tree of Acrobat and restart it. This may fix any discrepancies found temporarily in the system.
  • Attempt doing a repair installation of the software. This is different from a fresh install such that you don’t have to download the entire package again.
  • Check all add-ins enabled. You can perform intensive checking by checking your event viewer and looking for messages close to the time where you experienced the error.

Solution 5: Removing Adobe DC Completely

If none of the solutions above have fixed your problem. You can try to completely remove Adobe DC from your computer and re-install it. Follow the steps below to completely remove Adobe DC from your Computer.

  1. Download the DC Remover tool from this link (here).
  2. Once it’s downloaded, right-click on it and click “Run as administrator”.
  3. Once the removal is completed simply download the Adobe DC again and Install it.
  4. Check to see if the issue still persists.
