Access ошибка 3070

I have a database with a multiple fields 3 of which are:
ID which is an autonumber
IDtype which is text
COMPANY which is text as well

with the variable:
Dim rs As DAO.Recordset

when I do rs.FindFirst on the table I get the following results

rs.FindFirst «ID=367» -> code runs fine but this way only allows me to get that one specific record

rs.FindFirst «IDtype=’71′» -> code runs fine

rs.FindFirst «COMPANY=XDRT» -> runtime error ‘3070’: Access db engine does not recognize ‘COMPANY’ as a valid field name or expression (I also tried putting single quotes around XDRT and still same error)

The only difference between COMPANY field and IDtype field is the format is set to «@» for the COMPANY field

Any help on this would be much appreciated.

As my comment noted, the correct syntax is: 

rs.FindFirst "COMPANY='XDRT'"

, have you tried it?

Moreover, you probably have error when creating DAO.Recordset.

Dim rs As DAO.Recordset
Set rs = CurrentDb.OpenRecordset("MyTable", dbOpenDynaset)

As such all the tree fields are selected: ID, IDtype and COMPANY.

If Company has a datatype of Text, you need to use single quotes to search for a string in that case. Try this:

rs.FindFirst "COMPANY='XDRT'"

    I have run into an issue that I just am stuck finding a solution to.
    Just a not that I have only recently started working with MS Access and VBA. I have picked up a project from someone who left, so trying to figure his previous work.

    So, I have a form that is displaying a table in a grid view. The form recordsource is:
    SELECT tableX.* FROM tableX LEFT JOIN tableY ON tableX.status3=tableY.status3;

    The problem is that when I sort a few (random) columns on this form I get the popup:
    «The Microsoft Access database engine does not recognize <name> as a valid field name or expression. (Error 3070)»

    I am trying to get rid of this error but am unable to find the cause.

    — I am using Access 2007
    — Query Type = Select Query, not Crosstab Query
    — When I change the recordsource to just «tableX» (ie. there is no join) the error does not appear, but then i have a problem running filters on status3 field as it is bound to tableY
    — The error happens even when I am not running any filters.

    I have a feeling that the info I included is not enough but I am not sure what else to include.
    I am hoping to either nail down the cause or, if I dont manage that, to pass through the warning somehow.

  • Can you doublecheck the control source of the Combobox ‘title’ is the correct syntax.

    Thats the only thing I can think of is causing your error message.

  • Hi, I am trying to open a form in MS Access (Office 365).  I am using the following VBA code:

           DoCmd.OpenForm «CommunityAccountList», acNormal, , , , , «Community = » & Me.CommunityID.Value

    The code was working fine, and then it started producing the error:

         Run-time error ‘3070’: The Microsoft database engine does not recognize ‘5239’ as a valid field name or expression.

    I preceded this line of code with [MsgBox «Community = » & Me.CommunityID.Value] which produced the following popup:  «Community = 1».  I cannot figure out where Access is getting the 5239 from.  Any help would
    be appreciated.
