  1. Wifi randomly drops with event 6105 -deauth after EAPOL Key exchange sequence.

Been having some issue with either my windows or router for sometimes randomly disconnecting. (2-5 times a day) I can’t figure out if it’s windows or router. This is the error I get in the event viewer when wifi drops while surfing the web. «6105 — deauth after EAPOL key exchange sequence»

It doesn’t seems to effect my home smart system with their devices that connects to the same router. (maybe reconnected without me noticing) The laptop won’t reconnect unless doing it manually.

If someone can shine a light on where to look at the issue for me to start tackling it.

  2. Help connecting to 5Ghz WiFi

I am running Windows 10 Pro (Version 10.0.18362 Build 18362) and, until recently, had no issues connecting to my 5 Ghz WiFi. My network adapter is Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265. I am still able to access my 2.4 Ghz, but when connecting to 5 Ghz, I
am getting the following events (from Event Viewer).

Can anyone please point me in the right direction to correcting this issue? I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver, but that did not work. Any help would be much appreciated!

  3. Wifi user name and password are cleared before I can enter them

    Hi,

we get the same issue on at least two laptops:

    1) Thinkpad X1 Yoga, Windows 10 Pro

    2) Thinkpad Yoga 370, Windows 10 all variants

for the second Notebook we more or less tried all current Windows 10 variants:

    Home 1704, Enterprise 1704, LTSB 2016 (all 64 bit)

We tried different driver versions (pure intel, lenovo provided) for the wireless driver, with no success. However, with newer Intel drivers the error

6105 — deauth after EAPOL key exchange sequence from Netwtw06

    (see e.g. here: https://communities.intel.com/thread/114770)

always shows up every time the login data is reset. This might indicate a problem with the wireless network, but I am not so sure about that. Do you happen to know more about that?

Additional note: this only happens with wireless connections that require BOTH a login, as well as a password.

Connections that only require a password input are not affected.

    Best,

    Steffen

    Edit:

We were able to reproduce this problem with a Windows 10 Enterprise (1704) installation medium on a Thinkpad 13. So actually at install time.

windows 10 10147 — Atheros Qualcom WiFi drops

    hy,
i have question about 10147 release. does anyone else have WiFi drops? it happens like 5-10 times a day. usualy when i search for windows updates(maybe a coincidence?) or when i reboot the pc. then i troubleshooted a bit, i figured out that WLAN autoconfig service stops working. if i restart the service all starts to work again. how can i prevent those kinds of wifi drops? in the mean time, wifi button gets grayed out and the list is empty, like no wireless is in range (it figures .. since service is not running i guess). i checked the event viewer and saw that many services drops out from time to time including sound (realtek). any suggestions would be appreciated. got a clean install here.
    thanks

—Update—-

Hi!

Since my account is not verified yet I can’t share pictures or links (sry…), but please ask if there is anything that is unclear.

I’m a bit lost here trying to set up EAP-TLS. I want my clients to automatically sign on to my corporate network using computer certificate (or user certificate, does not really matter – but I’ve tried
both without any luck). I have the following «players» in my environment:

WLC — Cisco 2500 Wireless Controller

Radius NPS Windows 2012

Windows 10 clients

Local CA (Windows 2016)

I have followed a few different guides, without any luck and I’ve decided to reach out instead of trying more :)

So NPS configuration:

Connection Request Policies.

Conditions: NAS Port Type — Wireless — Other OR Wirless — IEEE 802.11

Settings: Authentication Provider — Local Computer

Network Policies.

NAS Port Type — Wirless — IEEE802.11 OR Wirless – Other

  • Ignore User Dial-In Properties — True
  • Access Permission — Grant Access

Connectivity prolems with error message — 6105 — deauth after EAPOL key exchange sequence

    Posted Nov 25, 2021 05:42 AM

    Hello!

We are running ArubaOS 8.6.0.0 on our Controllers, and WPA2 Enterprise — PEAP.

In recent weeks several clients have been having sporadic problems with connecting to the SSID, and succeed after10-15 minutes and several attempts whereby the computer is restarted, or the network card is disabled and enabled.

The following error messages appear continuously in the Windows EvenvtViewer log.

    • 6105 — deauth after EAPOL key exchange sequence
    • 7021 — Connection telemetry fields and analysis usage

We have noticed that this commonly occurs where we have AP-205 access points.

What could be the cause of this  issue?

Try to upgrade to 8.6.0.9 or 8.6.0.15 (or at least something more recent than a .0.0 version). There were some low-level AP firmware bugs in early 8.6 releases that were fixed in recent versions and may cause unpredictable connectivity like you see.

As well, upgrading the wireless drivers on your clients may resolve the issue. Especially with ‘corporate Windows images’ or vendor drivers (like HP, Lenovo, Dell, etc) it may be that you have just a bad driver that causes issues.

What RADIUS server do you use? You can check on the RADIUS side as well if you see strange things.

    Hello Herman,

Thank you very much for your response!

We recently did an upgrade to 8.6.0.15, but had to revert to 8.6.0.0 as our VPN clients then run into problems while connecting through Virtual Intranet Access (VIA). Aruba TAC had a look, and advised to revert (but that is another story, and will post on a new thread).

We are awaiting for ArubaOS 8.6.0.16 to make a new upgrade attempt.

We are using Windows NPS and nothing shows up in the logs there.

I will check on the drivers of the computers (HP) experiencing this problem.

Over the last few days I’ve been having trouble with my laptop dropping the WiFi connection. A quick google didn’t turn up anything and trying the few suggestions I did find, like disabling the power management for the network card, didn’t help.

It would appear that an updated driver was installed for the card recently and that seems to have been the cause. Viewing the windows event viewer showed one event occurring each time the WiFi disconnected, google didn’t find any information on it though so I thought I’d note it here in case anyone else was googling for it.

6105 – deauth after EAPOL key exchange sequence

In my case just going into the settings and rolling back the driver to the previous version appears to have corrected the issue, connection has not dropped since.

For anyone else having the same problem, hope this helps.

Update: Jan 2019

A quick update as this post appears when googling the error. On my laptop I seemed to manage to solve this issue in the end. When I had originally connected the laptop to the wireless I did so using the WPS button on the router. After much playing with drivers etc I removed the connection entirely and manually connected using the wifi key and voila, no more errors.
