Those errors are usually an indication that your Wi-Fi is less than adequate for automatic Internet Recovery.

Perceived Defects include:

Hidden Network-name

Manual IP address rather than good old DHCP

required login page or additional password

required use of PPPoE on the computer (on Router is fine)

no DNS numbers provided by Router, or 0.0.0.0 supplied

use of 802.1X profile or external validation

required use of proxy

You CAN connect directly with Ethernet to avoid all of these issues.

help error code 6002F

Hi all!

I was in the process of trying to update a 2011 Mac mini to Mountain Lion via an external HDD that I have a partition that contains the Mountsin Lion installer. I have multiple Macs, and this is a fast way of installing it instead of downloading it each time.

I know the installer works, because I didn’t have any problems with it on the other computers that I installed it onto.

After I booted from the external drive, I used Disk Utility to erase the internal HDD. I then went to install a new copy of OS X. Selected the correct drive to install it to, and when the installer was at the «preparing to install» stage (I believe this is when it is creating the recovery partition on the internal drive) it took a very long time and gave me an error saying that it couldn’t download the needed files in order to install OS X.

I tried it a few times, no luck. I repeated the above steps, all the way back to erasing the HDD again and starting over, no luck.

Next, I tried to just use Internet Recovery, assuming it would reinstall Lion. Now I get an error after I see the spinning globe for a moment, and the errors have either been «-6002f» or «-6002d».

Anyone have any thoughts on what to do?

I’ve also tried resetting the PRAM once and that did not help.

Итак, на кой-то чёрт я решил в этот раз провести «чистую» установку новой версии macOS на свой старенький MacBook Pro (2011 Early). Создал загрузочную флешку с помощью createinstallmedia, загрузился с неё, очистил основной раздел диска, начал установку и наткнулся на ошибку:

The installer payload failed signature check

Пишут, что ошибка возникает либо из-за сбоя системного времени, либо из повреждений установочных файлов в процессе их скачивания или создания загрузочной флешки. Время я проверил с помощью команды date, оно в порядке. Флешку проверить или создать заново я не могу (второго мака у меня нет), поэтому решил восстановить старую версию системы через Internet Recovery, однако наткнулся на другую ошибку:

6002F

Пишут, что такая ошибка возникает из-за проблем с «железом» — диском или оперативной памятью. Диск должен быть в порядке (я самостоятельно устанавливал SSD пару лет назад, никаких тревожных симптомов в последнее время не было), поэтому грешу на оперативку.

Time Machine под рукой сейчас нет, то есть откатиться на старую версию я тоже не могу.

У меня самого есть всего лишь две идеи, как решить проблему:
— Найти методом исключения неисправную плату оперативной памяти, загрузиться без неё и восстановить-таки систему через Internet Recovery;
— Найти приятеля с маком, создать заново загрузочную флешку и попробовать установить с неё macOS Sierra ещё раз.

Не представляю, что делать, если ни один из способов не сработает. Буду благодарен за любые советы и комментарии.

UPD: Проблема оказалась в оперативной памяти. Удаление одной из плат сделало доступным Internet Recovery и восстановление старой версии операционной системы.

I been havingthis problem repeatedly, after speaking to Apple Care this evening they have told me this is a hardware fault (indicated by an errorcode starting -60..) but that’s all they knew. They said the code didn’t exist in their DB.

If you look at my other posts you will see I have posted a longer version of events recently, I shall update that when my iMac comes back from being repaired.

Other threads on the discussion forums point to memory problems. I have a mid-2011 27″ iMac that came with 8 GB of RAM, but officially supports 16 GB. I upgraded it to 16 GB that I bought from OWC. Machine ran fine. Then a couple years later I noticed on OWC’s web site that it actually will run with 32 GB (four 8 GB sticks). Since I do video editing on this machine, I upgraded to 32 GB. Sure enough, it runs fine. Then late in 2014 the machine started crashing on a fairly regular basis; a couple times a week. Running AHT immediately produced the -6002D error. Thinking that system crashes are most often symptoms of memory problems, I pulled the four 8 GB sticks and replaced them with the four 4 GB sticks. Voila! AHT runs just fine. So even though the iMac will run fine with 32 GB of memory, AHT will not. AHT will not run with even one (or two) 8 GB stick of memory installed. Bottom line? Even though OS X will run fine, AHT will NOT run if you have larger-capacity memory sticks installed than Apple officially supports, and will immediately display the -6002D error, leaving the computer locked up. Also, the machine is running OS X Yosemite 10.10.5, FWIW.

Question: Q: AHT error code -6002D

This is more of a heads up to everyone out there rather than a question.

I have been experiencing numerous errors with my iMac 27″ (2011) for coming up to a year now. I have spoken to apple care a number of times but never really got anywhere, other than I should just start again and not restore my machine from TimeMachine.

I have repeatedly got the apple.com/support -6002D error when trying to run AHT to resolve the issues I have been having and AHT has never successfully ran. I have googled this error repeatedly and never got any info on it.

After speaking to Apple Care this evening I have some more information and thought that I should share.

Apparently this error points to a hardware issue, although the guy couldn’t tell me what as he stated this error code does not exist in their database. He did speak to his supervisor however and ascertain that error codes beginning -60.. relate to hardware issues.

My iMac is now to be collected and repaired (I don’t live near an apple store) and then returned to me. I shall follow up on this post when my iMac returns and advise if the error has been fixed.

I would be interested if anyone else has this problem.

In case you are wondering why I have been attempting to run AHT it is because of repeated Kernel Panics and hardrive errors which were diagnosed by Disk Utility as Invalid Key Length and Invalid Node Structure.

Hope this helps someone out there.

IIRC, those are usually disk directory errors that DU can’t fix, but DiskWarrior or other utility that handles disk directory issues can. Since you’re shipping the machine off to Apple for repari, I won’t recommend running Rember to rule out RAM issues.

I have a mid-2011 Mac Mini that has been a little flaky since new, or nearly new. An upgrade to the latest Lion version left it unable to start up, and not in a consistent way. Anyway, starting up with the d key held down resulted in a quick 6002D code.

I just swapped in the original memory (which I should have done a long time ago, perhaps), it passed the hardware testing, and now it’s running.

I run into the same problem. I have upgraded memomy and computer has been running flaky. I run AHT and got 4MEM error. I decided to check which memory stick was the problem and run AHT with each memory stick separately. It turned out they both had problems (Corsair 4GB 1333MHz).

First one, run AHT but AHT reported 4MEM error. When I tried to run AHT with the second memory, AHT would not start at all and I get the apple.com/support -6002D error. What was interesting and the computer would boot OK into OS X.

Exactly same thing happening to me. Looks like both of them are messed up. I just found my original memories back and I’m running AHT extended test at the moment with them. And yes, the OS X boots up normally. But every app I try to open, gives me an error.

Thanks, We had the same problem as well. Faulty RAM, funny thing we only found out about it when we tried to install yosemite and it would not work. So we tried running AHT and came up with the same error. Replaced the RAM and it is all good now.

Если во время переустановки ОС macOS на компьютере Mac с процессором Apple M1 возникла ошибка персонализации

Во время переустановки вы можете получить сообщение о том, что при подготовке к обновлению возникла ошибка.

Если вы стерли данные с компьютера Mac с чипом Apple M1, возможно, вам не удастся переустановить macOS из раздела восстановления macOS. Может отобразиться сообщение «При подготовке обновления произошла ошибка. Не удалось персонализировать обновление ПО. Повторите попытку». Используйте любое из указанных ниже решений для переустановки ОС macOS.

Использование приложения Apple Configurator

Если у вас есть перечисленное ниже, можно решить данную проблему с помощью регенерации или восстановления прошивки Mac:

• Другой компьютер Mac с ОС macOS Catalina 10.15.6 или более поздней версии, а также последняя версия приложения Apple Configurator, которое можно бесплатно скачать в App Store.
• Кабель USB-C/USB-C или USB-A/USB-C для подключения двух компьютеров. Кабель должен поддерживать передачу данных и зарядку. Кабели Thunderbolt 3 не поддерживаются.

You would need a 2012+ Mac to use Internet Recovery Mode. Pre-2012 Mac would use either Recovery Mode or the original installation discs that came with the computer to re-install OS X.

firstly I tried to upgrade FW but its up to date.

Finally I made install USB with terminal and its working fine.

BTW: in my iMac mid 2011 was internet recovery working.

You’re right. According to Apple’s information it should have worked on your MacBook too, but only when a certain firmware update was done: Computers that can be upgraded to use OS X Internet Recovery — Apple Support
